What happens to the guys that enter the transfer portal and no other school offers them a scholarship? Do they stay at their present university or does that university have the opportunity to revoke said scholarship?
My understanding of the rule (subject to being incorrect). To enter the portal the player has to ask the AD for a release from his scholarship agreement. At that point the scholarship then belongs to the university.
If player has NO offers it would be up to the coach / AD if they will take him back.
