So, I have The Price is Right on in the background here in my office, and I’m half-paying attention when I hear the contestant on stage say she’s from Athens, Ohio. “Go Bobcats!”, etc. I look up at my TV, and whaddya know, it’s Nicole Phillips! (Episodes of TPIR are typically taped months in advance.)

Mrs. Phillips had a pretty dramatic win in her pricing game before bowing out in a spin-off in the showcase showdown. Nice little moment (and pretty cool to see Drew Carey show some love for the Bobcats.)

Did you see the lady a couple of days ago who didn't understand how to do the "higher-lower" pricing game? I usually never watch a game show except Jeopardy now and then but it just happened to be on. In the 30 seconds of the higher-lower deal, Carey stopped the clock twice to explain to her how it works. A couple of times that he said "lower!" she would start going higher. The closest she got to the actual price of $859 (I think it was a nice set of bluetooth speakers or something) was 860. So he stopped the clock again with 3 seconds left and explained that she already said 860 and that it was a number lower than 860. He really wanted her to win these speakers. She had already said "850" like three different times and was told higher every time. So he re-started the clock for the last 3 seconds, and sure enough...she said 850 again and lost.

Cool

I didn't even have time to remember to have the first round of the Masters on (background or not) in my office today....

If you search "the price is right 4/12/2019 " on you tube it comes up.

Mrs. Phillips is the "any number" clip.

Nice.

My niece won a Cadillac and a Chrysler300 on her 18th bday. My brother ended up paying the taxes on them. Little brat would not drive them so he sold and bought her the BMW she wanted and has since blown up d/t lack of maintenance.

Enjoyed viewing this. She is every bit as animated as Saul. I can see why they are a good match! :-)

I have to admit, if I won those two vehicles, I'd sell them both and go buy myself a 4WD truck, and another thrifty and reliable Honda.

Bet ya 10 bucks batting your eyes would not get your old man to pay the taxes.

There's no chance I'd take that bet. He'd never agree to such a thing.
