On paper they have a favorable matchup as both Arizona St (61) and St. Johns (78) are lucky to be in the field from looking at KenPom metrics, but they do get the advantage of getting the jitters out of their system by playing in that play-in game round. I get what you're saying, but I dunno. Tech might have still beat our team - but certainly not by 40 (yes I know they only lost by 20 but it was 34 and heading for worse until the coaches put in the scrubs and Buffalo hit some garbage buckets). I tend to think we would have kept it in single digits either way.
