On Cowart's defense, take a look at the high scoring guards we played against throughout the season and notice that most of them didnt have great games against us. For example, Cowart limited Elmore of Marshall until the game was over and it was junk ball and Elmore paddled his stats at the end.
Relax, Jeff.

I believe OU Country considers you one of the three on here to take seriously.
As if OU Country is an accrediting authority. There are a lot of people that make great points, we just don’t like when people disagree with our view. OU country needs to get some Souvlaki’s and goodfella’s and chill, he also needs to stay out of the Greenery. Ou country, the last part is a joke, as a Bobcat fan I love all of you even though we may disagree.

He can go wherever he sees fit. Just like you and me with our jobs.
I doubt he can transfer to Harvard or Yale, or even to Kentucky or Gonzaga.
He can if his parents are willing to purchase the fencing coaches house.

I was just trying to provide some pointers to data that may show that Cowart played good defense most of the season. Not trying to defend myself against Buck.Cat. He very well could be correct. 😏 I dont consider myself among the smarter basketball minds on this board. I've been following the game for 50 years, since the UCLA vs Houston game in the Astrodome, so I have developed a few opinions over the years. 🙂

Hard to believe he’s going to stay division 1. Dude disappeared and looked like he was afraid to shoot the ball. Those saying he was solid, what did he do? I remember exactly zero times Cowart doing anything positive. He wasn’t bad... he just didn’t do anything
I remember being told this guy was a defensive wizard. And in his last game as a Bobcat, Eugene German dumped 18 points on his head in the first half of Ohio's MAC Tournament loss in Dekalb. I can't remember one thing this guy did that stood out all year.

The whole roster is being shredded and I have zero problem with it.
.

And you know what about D-1 basketball .. never mind. Cowart was our best defensive player. Nice of you to try and cherry pick data. The year was almost 30 games .. not 1 or 2. But whatever ... Boals is Wooden 2.0.
Congrats Jerry....Antonio was the best defensive player on a last place team. Many on here don't really see how this is a major loss. It's not like we are losing CJ Massinburg. Best of luck AC at your next stop.

Obsess much about John Wooden? You seem to mention him in every, single post. Enjoy and embrace the rebuild of Ohio basketball my friend. Coach Boals is doing it his way. You can't be "Mr. Nice Guy" in this business all the time if you want to improve your roster for the future and get back to winning. I get the feeling that Coach Boals isn't about handing out participation ribbons and trophies to his players.
My point is you are Mr. Negative. Uhhh I have mentioned Wooden once, perhaps twice in all my time on this board. Another nice exaggeration by you. Igt's better to stick to FACTS in my opinion. Try it some time.

Shall we talk about how much you despised Jim Christian? Seems one of his recruits (Tariq Owens) wasn't too shabby of a player. And gee, he's still at BC as far as I know. Coming back for his 6th year there.

It's very clear Boals is losing some decent MAC players who are moving on. Carter, Kirk and Cowart certainly would contribute next year. Whoever Boals brings in we'd be better with the above 3 next year.

Heard from a couple sources within his camp that unless he gets a point guard this spring recruiting season, he's good as gone. Multiple sources at the "Christian Family" dinner have conferred this to me. Apparently was the first time he ever took time to address his "family" about anything. So yeah, he expects to be fired if his PG is going to suck. Was more shocked he got another year in the rodeo given that it was a new AD and then some.

The disappointment with Coward leaving is he was a proven commodity that would give us 6-8 points and 5-7 rebounds next year - numbers I doubt any of the late arrivers would attain. Also, as a JC he only has one year left on his scholarship - so sticking would spread out the scholarships

Lucas was the best player on the Bears unti Walter Mautheau got the girl and the 16 year old to play for Chico’s Bail Bonds as well. But I never saw the Yankees tending Lucas an offer.

If we've learned anything in the last 18 months on this basketball board, it's not to take very, very few people's "observations" about talent and coaching abilities too seriously. I can think of a max of three people in this space who have actual qualification to be taken seriously. The rest of us are just fans and hoops junkies who think we might know something, and in reality, don't know much at all.
So by this reply, I take it you, a)agree with the assessment of Cowart, and b)agree that Saul should have been retained

Noted.
You assume that to be the case. As you may have heard before in your life, Assume = making an ass out of u before me. I absolutely don't think he should have been retained. Reading comprehension over the last 3 months of threads obviously isn't your strength if you believe that because I've not said he should have been retained during 2019 at all.

I think Cowart was a good, not great defender. That he was probably the best defensive guard/wing Ohio had was a problem. Citing his games against German as why he's not a good defender is silly, because Eugene German is one of the best 2-3 guards in the MAC.

I'd never consider myself an authority on anything basketball wise in this forum. Some people know more because they know more people in the basketball world than I do.

I'd love to do that Goodfella's idea though - I used to be an authority on that in my younger days! :)

You are literally borrowing failed lines from OhioCatFan. If that is the company that you want to keep, have at it.

Some of you guys didnt watch his defense. He was very good. His offense definitely was lacking.
Jeff, how much per hour for you to teach me how to watch the game? Guess I need to boost my BBIQ.
Dambrot and I are starting a consulting firm to teach how to watch the game, if you dont mind making the trip to Pittsburgh. Will have it on Skype eventually.
Sign me up. BTC says I need to learn a lot more about the Xs and Os, and I'm sure he'd give such high-powered consultants his imprimatur!
Wrong sport, you do not find me giving X and O’s on this forum.
Well, my lack of Xs and Os savvy is only slightly better in basketball. I do still play the game a few times a week. My assist to turnover ratio is on par with TK's, but I don't score nearly as often! ;-)
They make pills for that. Sorry old friend, sometimes you just lob beach balls to the plate, bout like the Reds Bullpen. 😎
Agree with Jeff. But with one year left - and with the transition mode Boals is in, and the quicker/sooner the better - I am not overly concerned as opens another transfer option scholly offer opportunity

Please give credit where credit is due. I borrowed those lines from BLSS, who used them very liberally (pardon the pun) in Siberia. I fully acknowledge that he was the first one to use it on BA! ;-)

With OCF closing in on 10,000 BA posts (is that the highest total?), I'm not sure there isn't another regular poster on here he hasn't appropriated lines from at one time or another.

His company, as well as Jeff's, seem more respectable to keep than some on here, so I'll keep their company if required to choose.

Doesn't change the fact that your assumption that you made earlier in this thread is ridiculous, inaccurate, and also a "failed line" that's over used about a coach that isn't here any longer. Got any other nonsense for us, or can we just move on?
