Unfortunately, WMU is loaded with cash, assuming that they've received the $50 million that was due the Athletic Department as part of that $550 million gift that was announced close to two years ago now. For the record, that was the largest single gift to a state university in US history. I'm guessing that they'll put aside a cool $15 million or so to use as sort of a NIL endowment. Wisely invested that would give them about a million a year to pay athletes. And, make no mistake, paying athletes is the name of the game now, regardless of what language is being used to desrbe what's happening.

Neither Cuthrell or Owens were a full-time starters this past season, but looking at game logs both show a lot of production when on the court. For example, in exactly 40 minutes of PT against Wright State, Cuthrell had 20 points and 16 rebounds.

I would be good adding some combination of Owens, Cuthrell, or Opurum. Assuming still valid, Opurum also holds offers from Iowa and George Mason that came in a year ago.
