You are correct-they are a Horizon League team with a similar athletics program as say Wright State.

Seriously? asking for a friend, you've never heard of IUPUI??? They are a long running name joke. They are also within the Northwest Territory so I am sure OCF is dying to give us a history lesson on the school and how it was founded....Actually a great story.

I will say this,after "googling" IUPUI and seeing seeing the school's

For a history lesson related to Ohio Basketball, Ohio beat them at the buzzer in Indianapolis during the 2009-2010 season courtesy of an Armon Bassett shot if I recall correctly.

I thought Ohio's mid-majors had a tough time marketing themselves. Then I moved to Indiana and realized some of their mid-majors have the bigger name schools IN THEIR NAME.

It'd be like if we were Ohio State-University of Cincinnati University.

It's also in Indiana County, founded 1806, which predates the State of Indiana by several decades. Some of the same cast of characters active in the Ohio Company of Associates were involved in land speculation in this area, as well. Now, of course there's also California University of Pennsylvania a few counties to the west of IUP. But that's another story for another day . . .
