I see Arkley tweeted today about Springs. Basically said his red shirt year will pay off and he should be part of the rotation this year. I like the sound of that. Included was a video clip of Springs performing quite an impressive vertical display that received the roaring approval of his teammates. Hope he does well.

That was him touching what appeared to be 12 ft. A couple other pics I've seen on Twitter make it look like he has added some muscle as well. I hope he continues to work hard and makes a big contribution here. I can think of at least one poster here who seems to be actively rooting against him so that makes me want to see him succeed even more.

Why would anyone be rooting against Springs? I don't get that. If this guy can somehow give us 8-10 quality minutes per game this year...what a bonus. Keep putting on the weight kid.

I think you'll have to see if those who were highly critical of him will answer your question.

I'm glad to hear he's progressing well, and glad to hear he's added some muscle. I'm less concerned with his weight than his strength to hold his own in the post. We've seen several players be successful that aren't really all that imposing physically. Tariq Owens is the first one that comes to mind for me. If Springs can, as you said, offer 8ish min/game on the glass and on D, this team is definitely better off.

If Springs becomes even 60% the player Tariq Owens became we will all be dancing here. I feel very positive that he's going to make a significant contribution this year. We need him too.

I personally don't want to compare him to Owens other than his frame, because I really don't know what his game/strengths look like yet.

I'm looking forward to seeing this group take the floor in November though. With all the new faces, plus the redshirted Springs and McMurray, and hopefully a healthy Dartis, I'm excited to see it all come together over the course of the season.

Can't wait to see how it unfolds either. Wish we could just fast forward to November now.

Very encouraging. Defender-shot blocker-rebounder is a definite need. Lets hope he keeps improving.

I like summer and fall, so I'll soak up the next 8-10 weeks before diving head first into hoops season. :)

He also posted a video today of him benching 135, which is pretty good for his size. I think he will give us a good 12-15 minutes a game this year, especially if he keeps getting stronger.

Saw him in Ping swatting balls of the top of the square like a volleyball player. He is very Springy.

This gives me a real good word-picture of the guy. Maybe we should call him the SpringMan! ;-)

Love the athleticism. The clip on Twitter was a wow moment for me. This kid can jump!
