Anybody else watching The Basketball Tournament?

http://www.espn.com/watch/player?bucketId=5060&id=8f79481...

They've got a team of former Mid American Conference bball players. Romeo Travis, Dru Joyce, Reggie Keely, DJ Cooper, and others on the same team. I didn't see another thread about this. Their game is on right now. ESPN3

Mid-American Unity beat the team made up mostly of former Wisconsin Badgers, 80-71.

Why did I watch this?

That ending was literally brutal. Good lord.

Why did they go away from getting the ball in the paint. It seems like Dayton clogged the middle but why not move the ball set screens or go Hi Low? Needed two and coop chucks the 3. Same thing when dru forced a 3. Cmon, higher percentage shots worked in the first half.

How the hell did I not know about this? Was the MAC put in charge of marketing? Love the idea and would have loved to have watched it.

What is it, why do they do it, will it continue? I've always said football & basketball should put together modest offseason leagues of alumni for something fun for them and the fans, light weekend schedules so they can still work 9-5 jobs.

I don't think there's the level of self-reflection going on during these games to the point where someone would go, " Wait. We should be running the high-low here."

One of my favorite things is watching Gary Payton coach during BIG3 games in a baggy t-shirt. Just the thought of them having coaches in that league makes me laugh.
