I have no idea what to say. Literally none.

How about that loyalty thing now?

And I'm not questioning his coaching ability. But Ohio needed some continuity.  I don't see any continuity in this one.

I hated that guy when he was at Kent State....because he was good.....but this seems like an April Fools joke....I mean I didn't know he was available....if I knew he may have been in my top 10......but probably not my top 5.

TCU fans are elated. Always a good sign.

Of course, they are delusional too with Dixon.

And just to show we aren't the only school with Twitter leaks causing players to find out before the coach tells them lol

Guess he didn't tell his team. RT  Is this a joke? RT: TCU coach Jim Christian reportedly hired at Ohio.

I want to be careful to not sound like Illinois fans a week ago, but we know this guy. He's not some up-and-comer that we haven't had the chance to evaluate. I think Jim Christian is a good basketball coach and this could work out. But this is a tough sell. Like a REALLY tough sell.

I agree... he took over a terrible TCU team... he knows the conference and nothing happens unless we're successful in conference.

This is like those first 10 minutes of breaking news on CNN. Everything everyone says is wrong and it doesn't matter because someone has to say something.

Appears to clearly be a move to hire a coach that will stay for many years.  Must have liked the MAC, tasted something else and wants to get back.  Perhaps he loved the OZONE and the 110 as much as Charlie.  If he coached against us and now joins us, he must have thought we had and now have something going for us in Athens.  I remember sitting right behind his bench in the Convo when Kent visited and I liked the way he handled himself in the huddle.

I was also hoping for Jeff Boals or Dustin Ford and was frozen in place when I heard this Jim Christian news. However, we get a coach who has won near 200 games and has six 20 win seasons under his belt. He never finished worse then 2nd in the MAC East and knows the midwest with experience at Muck Fiami, Western Kentucky, Pitt, and Kent. I am intersted to see the money he is getting paid, but having an experienced coach going forward with this crew coming back next year (we hope) and moving forward isn't the worst thing. Would I have prefered other options, yes, but he has many positives on his resume. His time at TCU isn't a total negative to me.

The $600,000 salary is what shocks me most...more than we reportedly offered Groce to stay...

What success has he had since Kent State? I am not seeing this. Hope its wrong. Ohhhh...wait...April Fools!
In 2008 he combined with Singletary to get called for 3 T's (2 on Singletary, 1 on him), leading to Jerome Tillman getting to take 6 free throws. I was impressed.

I never thought I'd be in the frame of mind to suggest that our leadership REALLY needs to win this press conference.

And if the money mentioned is true, I double the sentiment.

I do think we probably underestimate him because he was  the target of our hang-ups with the  Kent State program.

And I'm not sure Christian is looking long term here. I think he sees a team he can win with instantly, and he'll see if he can get a better job than TCU -- which is going to be swamped in the Big 12 next season.

All I have to say is if this is true.  Why Not.  He did well at KSU.  6 Solid Seasons.  Give me a 6 year span in Ohio Basketball that was as good as JIm's at KSU.  His record at KSU is better than JG's in the MAC.  This is his 6 seasons at KSU: (138-59) Not Bad at All!

2002–03 22–9 (12–6) 2–1; Lost in final 0–1 in NIT Jim Christian
2003–04 22–8 (13–5) 2–1; Lost in final 0–1 in NIT Jim Christian
2004-05 20–13 (11–7) 1–1; Lost in quarterfinal 0–1 in NIT Jim Christian
2005–06 25–9 (15–3) 3–0; Won tournament 0–1 in NCAA Tournament Jim Christian
2006–07 21–11 (12–4) 1–1; Lost in semifinal -- Jim Christian
2007–08 28–7 (13–3) 3–0; Won tournament 0–1 in NCAA Tournament Jim Christian

Is that OHIO money or just his TCU salary. I will be amazed if we are paying him that.
