In the video, Coach stated that Springs has gained 12 pounds since Boals arrived in town.

I liked his "shut him in the weight room with a cow, told him don't come out until he's eaten the cow" comment. I got the vibe the 7th open scholarship will not be filled. It wasn't said, but that was the feeling I got. Boals said he's willing to pocket it unless the right recruit happens. Bob Boldon was entertaining, to me. I think the dry, somewhat uncomfortable public speaking can be pretty funny. Good to see the women's team get some attention for the great things Bob and Co. have done lately.

40 pounds to go. The fact that we saw little/no weight gain under Saul says a lot about previous regime's attention to player development and accountability.

Does it? Doug Taylor certainly improved his body a ton in his tenure here. James Gollon was a heck of a lot more muscular than when he arrived. Jason Carter was much more tone than his freshman season. And were you really tracking Nate Springs' weight during the year?

When we signed Springs in November 2017 he was listed at 192 pounds. The roster on OhioBobcats.com has him seven pounds lighter. He looked rail thin all season.

Interesting listen, Boals interview with Russ Eisenstein. Not much "new info" in there, but I thought the stuff about that first academic report and what was and wasn't going on was interesting.

It's possible that it says as much or more about the nutrition and training programs in general, and perhaps about each individual player's desire to improve. I do agree that it's a little concerning if he didn't really add much weight/mass in the prior 10 months on campus. At the end of the day, I care much less about how much he weighs than I do about how well he can defend/rebound and put the ball through the hoop.
