With the announcement of various upcoming junior camps that Coach Boals is running this summer, I wondered if an adult camp has ever been done? I don't recall ever hearing of one, but I believe the topic has been broached on this board before. I figured with the change in staffs this could be revisited.
------
Here's what I imagine:
Fri Night: Attendees arrive for a group dinner with Coach Boals, staff and players (current and prior) involved

Saturday:
6am- Morning light workout/run with coaches and team; instruction on the workout routine and diet of current players
730am- Breakfast
830am- Convo Tour of Coach's office, locker rooms
930am- Bobcat Basketball History; Coach Boals and ex-players share the best stories from their days in a Bobcat uniform
1030am- Film Session/Breakdown of basic schemes the team runs on both offensive and defensive
Noon- Lunch
1pm- Attendees split into teams and comingled with current and former Bobcat players; each team led by an Assistant Coach; Green and White Jerseys handed out
130pm- Teams split up for practice. Walk through difference defensive/offensive approaches; Shootaround; instruction on the fundamentals
400pm- Dismissed. Time for "exploring" Court St.

Sunday:
7am: Breakfast
8am: Walkthrough game plan
830am: Shootaround/practice
10am: Photo sessions with all participants and individual shots with coaches players
11am: 3pt contest (let the public in, gather donations for the charity of choice)
Noon: Team Game with 10-minute halves
------
I have no idea what to charge for something like this for it to make sense to all parties.

I'm curious what you all think...

Kentucky does this in conjunction with their Blue and White game, so the end of camp game is the opening act in front of an actual crowd, which I think is really cool.

I'm in if you roll the start time back a couple hours. For those of us in our 60s and 70s, the bones, joints, and muscles take a little time to warm up.

Will there be cardiologist on call? Plus a surgeon to close cuts caused by OCF's sharp elbows?

I think baseball is better suited for this. I think basketball is too strenuous of a sport for this. And I cant see the basketball staff taking time to do it. Camps for kids could possibly help with recruiting in the future, especially the team camps. An adult fantasy camp wouldn't do that.

It's called marketing Jeff and connecting with fans - the ones who spend money and spread the word. I wonder how many kids came to a camp at OU and then ended up playing here. I guess, not many. Come on folks, let's try to think outside the box for once.

I attended camp and also played for the Bobcats.

I agree with Jeff. The guys that would drop some coin to do this are likely too old to play.

Or the guys who are too old that have the coin could sponsor a young alumni who could play but doesn't have the coin. Bring Bobcats together young and old. Peach and harmony. Everyone sings kumbaya and goes to Jackie O's for happy hour.
