If there is any proof of this, how is the Arizona job not currently open?

This is unfathomable that he still has a job.
And LSU is still backing Will Wade. Eventually, you might as well tear the mask off.

Amazing what winning does to these situations. It's quite ridiculous.

It really feels as though the NCAA quit any level of oversight after Ohio State (and, maybe, Penn State). Think of the consequences given to Jim Tressel for the tattoo scandal, even the show-cause consequence. Then you line that up with UNC getting off nearly completely for the classroom cheating scandal, Rick Pitino somehow avoiding a show-cause consequence, and the fact that nobody has been hit hard by these FBI trials. They're a joke now.

Well North Dakota opens up as their coach resigns to be an assistant at Illinois-gasp State. Sounds like Saul country to me. Who knows?

If you thought basketball was second fiddle at Miami during the winter, take a look at NoDak. Hockey sells out an 11,000 seat arena even in mediocre years while hoops plays in a 3,000 seat gym.

And the last coach had a $140,000 base salary. And $160,000 for his 4 assistants-yuck.

I would have to think he would be part of their candidate base to be interviewed, right?

A little historical trivia about the University of North Dakota.  A former mathematics professor and dean at Ohio went there in the 1950s to assume the presidency of the university.  His name was George Starcher.  He is kind revered there the way John C. Baker is at Ohio University.  He was a close personal friend of my father's, as they taught together for years in the mathematics department, before George transitioned to the administrative side.

Never apologize, never admit when you're wrong, line up your people to carry your water, be powerful enough with enough profits at stake and there's no actual force in this world that can oust you. The old understanding that shame was enough to cause you to scurry away has been erased.

Buckle up. We're in new territory.

Yup. This era has taught us just how big a role unwritten social norms used to play and what it looks like when powerful people decide those don't apply to them.

Is it just me, or do I find it weird when I searched the North Dakota job that the Idaho Statesman comes up first?

Not to drag this conversation sideways, but seems to make a lot of sense. That said, if Saul is not on the short list I'd be shocked.

If Coach Phillips took this job, wouldn't it sorta be like Groce to Akron?

Now that the NCAA has opened an investigation on Arizona, maybe Miller will get the axe.
