Wow. I heard its for just under $600,000 per year. I am not liking this hire at all. He's never been out of the first round...

1. Clearly, prior coaching experience mattered in this situation.

2. They're going to give Christian more money than they were going to give Groce to stay.

3. JIM CHRISTIAN?!!

Is it in any way possible that someone created a fake CBS website and posted that? It's been done before where you mirror a site for a joke.

Nevermind, he tweeted it, too.

Holy. Crap.

First round of what? He took Kent State to the Elite Eight.

Wonder if this is the type of hire that is seen like Solich, a guy who had success already in his career and won't leave after a few seasons.

Stan Heath took Kent to the Elite Eight. Jim Christian never won a tournament game (NIT or NCAA).

Sorry got them mixed up.

No hire would please this crowd unless it was Boals or Ford.

Schaus hasn't been wrong with his last 2 basketball hires, can't start doubting him now.

=>No.  Christian took over after Stan Heath.

Kent had 3 coaches in 3 years.

Gary Waters in 2001, Heath in 2002, and Christian in 2003.

I am a font of misinformation.  I will go back to my typical role of quite observation.  That is all.

Other way around, Heath took them to the Elite 8 and bolted, then Christian took over.  From his TCU bio:

In his first three seasons, Christian has guided the Frogs to a combined 38-58 overall record, including a 14-17 overall record during his first campaign.

My wife just asked me the question..."Why are we hiring him?"

20 games under .500 at TCU. Never won a postseason game. Not going to excite the fan base in the off-season. Better win some games early. Hope the players buy in too.

Are we discouraging his 4th season?

TCU won a game in the CBI
