For us to hang within 15 points, I have to believe this is a game where we need Dartis to go off for 25+ points. Regardless of what happens, absolutely loving the experience these guys are going to get against Villanova, Baylor and Purdue.

The worst thing that could happen to us would be for Villanova to be blown out by OSU, and that's exactly what happened. Will we be facing a pack of wildcats that will be mean, hungry and focused.

If we take care of the ball and play good defense, we can’t hang in there, it is sad that we have to play them without 4 key players., but it is the nature of the business

Was thinking the same thing when I saw the score last night. It could have been any other team and it would be bad but having another team with Ohio on their chests even escalates it more.

I get the psychological theory here, but at the end of the day...does it really matter? Before the season, most people expect OHIO to lose the Villanova game by at least 30. And I'm sure that really hasn't changed today because the Wildcats lost to Ohio State...no matter what the score of that game was. Wouldn't 'Nova still come in "mad" if they lost by one?

Y'all worry too much...Ohio has nothing to lose...they're playing with "house money" at this point.

They way they should see it is that nothing is impossible - Evansville just beat Kentucky on their home floor. It's all good. The kids can play.

Preston is a known asset now...Nova will single him out. We don't have enough wing depth right now to keep pace. It will surely be a tough fight but who knows, if Foster, Springs, Ogbonda and McMurray continue to hustle and hit a few 3s then we can make this close. I am so thrilled with the first three games that it's true, house money is being used and I am all in. If Iona and St. Bonnie were in the MAC they would surely be looked at as competing for league titles right? And those two away games are probably the most hostile we will face compared to all MAC venues. I really like this team going forward in the immediate future. No result on Saturday will sway me otherwise. GO CATS!!!

Maybe but it would have been a seemingly easier task if they were looking past us. Very little chance of that now. House money or no we are going to need every advantage we can get.

Was thinking that last night. Iona made it their focus to keep the ball out of his hands in the 2nd half and it worked well. That is until about 3 minutes left when they tired a little bit and he took over.

It's funny you talk about them being tired because it looked like OUr guys never looked tired, especially Preston. I do want to say however that I would like a lot more "load management" Preston in some of the upcoming non-league games like outside of the Big 3 (Baylor, Nova and Purdue) so that he's fresh for MAC play. I don't think a single MAC team is any more dominant than Iona and St. Bonnie. Last year Beefs were head and shoulders above anyone but this year, do you trust Huger to lead BG? Is Beefs a coaching thing? I seriously think we can compete NOW in the MAC.

Personally, yes, I'd trust Huger to lead BG. He did last year, and he returns all of his guards and wings, and has Justin Turner, who I'd expect to be the MAC POY this year. He's very good.

UB is still full of talent despite all the lost players to graduation. Now, are they better than Iona or St. Bonnie? I don't know - way too soon to tell for me.

Agree with the idea of load management for Preston. Hopefully getting the currently injured back to health will allow him (and others) to sit a few minutes a game in the near future.

Let's keep in perspective that while Iona and St. Bonaventure are good programs, they are both still winless on the season.

I said this the last couple of seasons but those quick possessions that were the hallmark of the TK era took their toll on us. It's much easier to play offense than it is defense and making teams play defense for 25 seconds wears them down over time.

Has to happen, right? I was hoping McDay could spell him but haven't seen that yet. McDay and Brown need to emerge as PG options as the season progresses. I assume Dartis can I like Dartis without the ball in his hands all the time.

Boals has them playing loose. The thing going for us we already shoot in a gym with a deep backdrop. Going to Wells Fargo won't affect us as badly in this regard like it would other schools that are "mid-major"

The best outcome of the Villanova, Purdue, Baylor stretch is to see how to play with the big boys then to see the difference in the MAC league. Lot of young talent. Preston is never rushed. Let's see how handles the big talent.

Exciting! Go Bobcats!

This game is on FS2.
Is FS2 an online only broadcast?

Nova may not look past us but their fans sure are. 24 hours until tip off and not a peep about the game on either board.

Just found a game preview which is pretty in-depth

https://www.vuhoops.com/2019/11/15/20966322/villanova-bas...

Found something interesting that may have been mentioned earlier but I didn't realize it. This is part of the Myrtle Beach tournament but doesn't really count in the tournament. It's outside the bracket which technically starts with our Baylor game. We could potentially end up playing Nova twice in 8 days.
