I watched Iona-Lasalle yesterday... interesting team Iona has... starts 4 guards. Very athletic team. They did not shoot well- was 8 for 40 from 3...but they play very solid D. They pick up the coverage early and are very sticky on that end. I'm guessing they'd be a 3 point favorite maybe. This will be a good test for Ohio- especially with only one dominant ball handler. Can't wait!

Any word on the availability of Roderick, Price, Murrell, and Brown for this one?

Price played against Heidelberg. I would imagine he will need time to acclimate to the regular rotation since he missed all of the preseason. Believe I heard Roderick is a couple more weeks out... think it was Bannister who said that on air. Murrell is a mystery. Hopefully Brown is not much longer.

I don't personally know. I do know I'd take my time getting them back. I would also continue to ask questions about strength and conditioning and nutrition if the injury bug continues to be a problem in the Convo. I admit I'm not in the know regarding the personnel or if anything has changed in that area from Saul's tenure, but if it has not changed, it could be that it needs to. The injury bug, at this point, has been a trend in the past 4 years.

I think everyone is dealing with an increased number of injuries. These kids are just overworked and under rested before arriving on campus:

Great share. And it sheds light on the issue in a big way.

Also worth noting... Boals said in the Heidelberg presser that before his injury, Roderick was probably the team's third best player. I assume that's behind Dartis and Preston.

Wouldn't it make sense to redshirt some of those guys if they need time to heal up nagging injury issues?

Only if they are projected to not be back until we're well into conference play.

I'm not aware of any of the injuries being something that is expected to be long lasting. Does anyone who knows a little more have info on that?

I know we have limited info on the injuries but it looks like Price will be easing his way back into the rotation now over the next month with some minutes....so he appears to be good.

Roderick we hear a few weeks away....so as long as he feels close to 100% by time of MAC season no need to redshirt.

Brown...this is a mystery too me. Haven't heard a real timeline yet.

Murrell...abdominal issue right? This one is most concerning because these type of injuries usually take a long time to recover from. My guess of the 4 players, maybe Murrell is the biggest question mark and could be a redshirt possibility.

Isn't Murrell already considered a redshirt Sophomore due to his year at Community College?

My guess is Miles Brown is redshirted.

Really really really want Ben Roderick back.

I think Connor's problem is a foot issue.

Of course, if you redshirt, just opens up transfer possibilities after their redshirt junior year, or even sooner under the more liberal transfer rules. That's the way it is these days, particularly if you are a good player and can fill a role at a big time school.

I cannot explain how proud I am of this team so far. Even if we go 2-29 I am energized by Boals, by the players -- by this entire program. From the social media to the campus availability I cannot help but be excited by this squad. We may very well lose to Iona by 20. We might lose by 30 to Nova. But I am fairly certain that our guys will never give up and remain passionate about their teammates and their program. To be 2-0 to start the season without 4 key players is HUGE! And if Price can work in we will only be more dangerous!

Big test tonight. Iona returns 4 of 5 starters and its been to NCAA tourney six of last eight years. Looking forward to seeing how the guys respond to a difficult road test.

We caught Iona at a good time last year. They were really struggling finding their rhythm. Might have been our best ball movement game of the year. They aren't big but their 18 offensive rebounds against LaSalle worries me. Not sure if they have injuries but they only really played 6 in their first game and it went to OT. Might be a good team to slow it down and make them play long possessions on defense. Hope we are ready to defend the perimeter because they took 40 threes against LaSalle. Seems to be an area of focus for Boals because we've been greatly improved there so far this year.

Continue to grow. Continue to grow. It will be a tough game to win, but let's be competitive and continue to get better as a team.

Should be a big challenge for a young team. Iona is likely to have a solid crowd, as students are still on campus and they are unveiling a freshly renovated gym.

Iona will likely be without their coach who has missed a number of weeks with an undisclosed health issue.

Based on their LaSalle box score, it looks like they're trying to figure out who should be the primary bench sub for their starter, Agee. They had four bigs combine for 19 minutes but none over seven. Those four went a combined 1-8 from the field with four boards and no blocked shots. Seems they have one very good post player in Agee and not much else.

Line is Iona -6. Sounds about right. Making progress in Vegas. St. Bonaventure was -12.5.
