Anybody else read this one? I think it was in the Sunday Messenger. Not a ton of shocking info, just the insinuation of the end of the Saul era being stale in the locker room. Then, at the tail end, was the first I have heard of Miles Brown's injury. It sounds minor but he's going to be out up to 6 weeks. It makes me wonder if he's going to be behind the pack when it comes to getting playing time when he gets healthy.

I'm ready for basketball season.

The good thing is that I feel like we have more depth especially at guard so a redshirt year would work with Roderick, McDay, Preston and Dartis being available. Plus his brother was known as a solid player as our walk-on.

The Dartis comments about the culture of the program last couple of years was very interesting. So glad that part of Ohio hoops history is bye-bye.

I don't know what Jordy was referring to. But I did hear an interview with Boals where he made a short, almost off hand single sentence comment about having to get academics shored up. There was no follow up.

I can't remember where that was but I know what you're talking about. It might have been a Russ Eisenstein interview. He mentioned something about players not going to class and missing tutoring sessions and that those guilty of such things were no longer in the program.

“A change was needed for a fresh start. We got it with Coach Boals,” Dartis said.

“With this new group, we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,” Dartis said. “We had a good couple years, and then it went kind of grim. It was very grim. And you felt that in the gym.

“But if you want to believe, believe in Coach Boals,” he continued. “He knows what he’s doing. He’s been at a high major and knows what it takes. He’s got us in here doing the same stuff.”

I am grateful to Jordy for sticking around. a 3 pt. sniper of his caliber, even coming off injury, would have been in demand had he chosen to bolt. Thank you Jordy, and best wishes for a healthy and productive season.

I'm with you. I'm ready to move on from football season already. ;)

And, I'm excited to see how year one goes, and how this team develops. My biggest wish is to see everyone, especially Dartis, have a mostly healthy season.

I find it hard to believe that was the case with Saul's group, unless there were a few bad apples in the bunch. Didn't we have a couple guys who were Academic All-MAC?

I got SO excited when I saw him performing drills in the preseason practice video that was posted on Twitter.

Don’t believe it then.
