MASS exodus happening at Eastern Michigan...Malik Ellison and Quinterious Jones now added.

With their graduating players plus transfers, they're gonna be hurtin. Already have two JUCOs committed to fill the gaps.

Akron lost two of their best players but they got a juco all-American a post grad that beat spite and got the game mvp and an all Indiana first team guy that is 6’7” and shoots over 50% from three. I believe getting Roderick and keeping mcday is the equivalent.

One of the comments in the thread was "Not good enough for power conference bball. A local-ish mid major seems like the right move"

Spent a year with a redshirt, seems awfully hard to see Big East Butler as a stepping stone to bigger schools so maybe the comment above is more accurate. It is going to make Butler think twice about those redshirts. Easy to see him joining the guy who recruited him in Columbus. Do they have room for a 6'11 guy? We got a few Buckeye faithful here who should know.

Ohio State has several open scholarships and need a big. He’ll end up at OSU or another Big 10 school.

Word on the street is Brunk to IU is all but a done deal. Always a chance Holtmann can step him back, though.

I am not sure how you would ever study this, but I wonder what the 1 and done and early departures effects are on the mid-majors getting raided or people being influenced in trying to move up. That being said, I recognize that most of these transfers do not go up, but some do.

Didn't Ellis Dozier end up with no chair when the music stopped? Not even the smallest NAIA school in the smallest town? Some of these guys need to understand that the grass may look greener on the other side. Until they end up paying their own tuition to finish the degree somewhere while being the most wanted intramural hoopster at school.

Because I've always found Ellis to be a curious case - a kid who had serious athletic ability that could get it to translate to the court for Ohio - I looked him up.

He played this year for Claflin University in Spartanburg, SC. His Twitter account says he's an alumnus of Ohio, and his pic is from commencement, so basketball helped him get the degree. Great for him.

By gosh, he did finally end up at a small D-2 school. Played in 8 of their 27 games, total of 10 points on the season. Kudos on the degree.

Now, the point-a-game at a D-2 school... how does that reflect on the former coach and his recruiting? Saul gave a D-1 mid-major scholarship to a guy who sat on the end of the bench at an obscure D-2 school with a losing record. Hmmm...

He was also a 3* according to ESPN. Worth considering that as well. Saul + staff weren't the only ones to over estimate his skills.

I didn't think he would be a good recruit. I just thought it was interesting and we love to speculate on this board.

Duling played for All Ohio Red on the AAU Circuit and graduated from Newark (same as Dartis). He didn't do much at Kent State, but who knows. Maybe it was a coaching thing.
