Did you expect an entirely new team to arrive over Christmas, or some magic reindeer dust to make this collection of players taller and wider over the holidays? This team is who they are. The freshman are some of the bigger players brought in as far as size in a few years, the returners are bigger, faster and stronger. What you have is a collective group that’s still got a ways to go. Who is just coming back from injury or missed time from injury.
Not at all. Maybe you missed these parts of my comment.

we ain't there yet.

Gonna take some time, and that's okay.

Some of that's on the guys/style Saul recruited. Some of that's due to Boals not having a full recruiting season/schedule. It's going to take some time but we HAVE to address this.

Is it time already for another, "Life on the Road in the MAC BBQ" at Bobcat Love's place? Just asking for a friend who expects instant gratification.

Pretty simple to see what happened in this one: WMU made the plays late to seal it and Ohio didn't. It's a young team with flaws and there will be growing pains.

Still, hard to argue the grit they showed after going down big early. Really needed those threes from BRod off the bench to help stop the bleeding. Nice to have a young guy who can step up like that. Loved seeing Murrell get back into the swing of things. That dunk he had in the 2nd half would have been a crowd riser at home.

They'll be fine eventually. A game like this is a learning tool.

Exactly. We have potential but we are young. The goal for this season should to be to improve every game and be better at the end of the season than we are now. I think BRod and Murrell will really help us.

GraffZ06: Re your comments about the physical size of our players. Have you seen the team play in person this season yet? That gives a far better perspective on comparable physical size than TV does. Until I read your posts, I hadn't heard much said so far this year about us having a deficit in this category. I havent noticed that we are really outclassed in terms of physicality. It's possible your observations are a function of WMU just being a big team. We lost up there because we shot poorly....plain and simple.

We actually outrebounded Western. Of course, we missed a ton of shots so there were a lot of offensive rebounds to be had.

Yes, I remember one sequence where we got like five or six offense rebounds in a row and missed every put back attempt. Seemed a microcosm of the whole game.
