We will need the 3 to be falling tonight. With that in mind, Dartis better be playing a full game or it will be a struggle. Just hope we compete to the end.
I'm gonna say this about Dartis and said it last night to a few folks: They'd be wise to let him sit, or at least limit him to 20ish minutes in the remaining non-conf games. Very little to gain in my opinion by having him playing in the non-conference at this point.

+1

Not only that, this team is very young and stupid, and I mean that in a good way.

These guys are going to make a lot of mistakes, might as well let them make it now. Because the other half of young and stupid, is when they get that W that they had no business getting. Time to let the boys work through the kinks and glad they got to see a team like Purdue this early in their careers. For that matter this whole schedule has been incredible for our boys.

-So glad we get 3.5 more years of Lunden McDay. Kid can play. He may end up being one of the best wings we've seen here in a long time. He does a lot of things well.

-Really anxious to see what this team is like at full strength, hopefully getting some reinforcements for MAC play. Jordy, JP and BVP are gutting it out.
Agreed on McDay. Agree even more about seeing this team at full strength, though I have serious doubts that we'll actually see that this year. More than anything, I'd like to see Roderick get back. He's probably the biggest difference maker that is absent currently.

Having a home game against the likes of Purdue is might make a home game against BG, Akron, or UB a little easier in my mind because of having to fight through the tough defending they faced with Purdue. The difference in my opinion: no MAC schools have the combination of quickness and skill that Purdue brings.

I really think the cheerleaders should have to stay on campus and cheer the games they committed to when they signed up. The consider themselves student athletes, no? There were times that the fans really needed some direction on cheers.
I'll trust the average Ohio basketball fan to have more knowledge than the cheerleaders when it comes to when to cheer.
Not around anymore, but I don't think the cheerleaders ever get enough credit. They're fans, too, and they know what's going on. If they're doing something that seems questionable in regards to timing or whatnot, it's likely at the misguided direction of a coach.

Also, if you're gonna require them to come to out-of-session games, you're going to have to provide for them. Unless something's changed, there's no budget for that.

Totally agree cheerleaders don't get the credit they deserve and its only noticed when they aren't present.

My point in bringing it up was that the chants were not great, one side of the arena not in sync with the other, etc. The group sitting in the student section tried their best to get the crowd involved but its just not as effective as when cheerleaders are leading. The huge megaphones might have something to do with that.

I know this was a very rare circumstance where we host a big 10 team during break but its a culmination of little things that take mid majors over the hump.
