Ohio can beat this team. Should have beat them up there earlier in the year. There were ZERO points scored from the bench or Jordan Dartis and still only lost 76-73. Granted BVP and Preston both went off, but even still if the Bobcats get even a little bit from guys who are expected to contribute, they have a good chance at knocking off the Bulls.

Issue for Ohio is that Buffalo is peaking at the right time. They've won four straight, including a 2 OT thriller at Kent on Friday. But if they lost at EMU, they can lose in Athens.

Would be nice to win one of these games against top half of MAC East. We have proven we can be competitive against these teams... Need to turn corner and have consistent game where we pull it out.

Look at the FT percentage for the entire game. From memory: Ohio: 25%, BGSU 80%. We would have won several more games this year in the MAC with a better free throw percentage!

Ohio was 9 of 14 (64%) and Buffalo was 11 of 14 (79%). As a whole, Buffalo is a poor shooting team from the foul line (66%), but they were good that time. Ohio is slightly below average at the foul line (68%) on the year. Certainly, several of the games Ohio lost has been when it has shot worse than that.

What is the expected availability of McDay and Dartis?

Oops . . . I was posting about the BGSU game . . . I guess I posted it in the wrong thread!

That makes sense, and the point is true. Ohio's been a little below average on free throws this year and especially below average in games it has lost. Buffalo has been even worse but was good when it edged Ohio earlier.

Not only is our FT percentage below average, we're also not getting to the line. We have the fewest attempts in MAC play (212) and the fewest makes (142).

The word after the BG game was that Dartis was just cramping up at the end. So I "assume" he'll be fine.

Haven't seen anything on McDay, but he was on the bench on Saturday and wasn't in a boot or anything (at least from what I could see) so that's a positive given our recent injury history. Turned ankles are always tough to gauge. Depending on the severity we don't know how long he could or couldn't be out.

Both Dartis and McDay participating in pregame warmups. There doesn’t appear to be any limitations. Hopefully that proves to be the case.

Excellent first half. Spacing and shot selection were great to start, took a lull in the middle, then picked back up to close. We're fighting hard for the 50/50 balls and making Buffalo earn everything inside the arc. That is the bones of winning in February.

Not so sure about possessions. We had at least a half dozen poor shot selections and unforced turnovers. We are obviously shooting the ball well and hustling.

I was up at BG Saturday visiting a grandson and took in the game. Seemed to me the script is the same...we get out of the blocks fast.

Biggest thing is we need to learn to play for 40 minutes, stop taking dumb shots early in the shot clock.

Although scoring only 3 points, I thought Ogbanda was huge.

Due to what he gives Ohio on the boards and on defense, and with little production from his backups, he's emerging along with Preston and BVP as a player Ohio can least afford having on the bench.

Obviously our best win of the year. Took 31 FTs and made 74% of them. Outrebounded Buffalo 39-36 and held them to 33% from the field. Had four guys in double figures and got some decent scoring off the bench (11 pts). We're also holding onto the ball better -- 5 TOs Saturday vs BG and ten tonight. If we play this way Friday against Kent we should win.

Ogbonda was enormous with the rebounds, closeouts, and shot altering. His +/- had to be through the roof.

Yes, there was one in the second half where he got a cutting Preston that was a Cooper dime.

I hope they never stop having these celebrations when they win. It's a great thing to see.

What happened to Ogbanda. For the last three games, including tonight, he's been a man possessed on rebonds. Earlier in the season he was getting rebounds ripped away when it looked like he had them. Now, he's the rippie and not the ripped from. He's like a different guy out there. Some of it is fire in the belly, but perhaps some of it is also being coached how to better hang on to the ball? What do you think accounts for this turn around? Whatever it is, I like it!

Great game and absolutely terrible officiating. One of the most poorly officiated games I've seen in some time.

Happy to see the showboating Bull denied at the cup.

For all the consternation about "Dardis" - psssst, it's Ogbonda, not "Ogbanda".
