While watching a local high school game that included more than 1 dunk last week I was wondering: 1) who on our team has a dunk during a game this season; and 2) who on our team can dunk.

Big Ben has his shares of dunks this year. Anyone else?

Mason McMurray enjoys slamming it home in the warmup line. What other teammates are capable of this?

As I mentioned in the last week in another thread, I'm a complete nerd that has a pretty photographic memory when it comes to Ohio basketball.

BVP has the most dunks this year followed by Ogbonda. Connor, Mason, Nolan, Nate, and Lunden each have one on the year. No one else has dunked in game.

This is not a great dunk year as we do not have a tall, uber athlete. The best dunk is probably BVP's baseline drive against BG.

We have not thrown down an alley oop this year.

Despite the poor records, the past two years were pretty good dunk years in terms of quantity and quality. Doug, Jason, Teyvion Kirk, Mike Laster, and Kevin Mickle were above average dunkers.

The stretch from 2010-2014 was a great dunk period. Devaughn, Jon Smith, Maurice Ndour, Ivo, Reggie, Ricardo, Tyquane were all great dunkers.

While it was JP's first, it might be the best of them all for the Bobcats.

Better dunk:

-JP's follow-up last night.

OR

-Doug Taylor's one handed alley-oop at Ball State last year.

Hands-down (pun intended) Doug Taylor.

I think I will be forever biased and use Patrick Flomo as my dunk standard.

Several others have strong arguments for being a standard barrier, perhaps many better than Patrick.

He was part of my Ohio basketball gateway.

Glad to see Jason made the SC top 10...definitely made my jaw drop in person. It was so perfectly timed, a thing of beauty from someone who doesn't typically dunk.

That said, Doug's dunk last year might be the best Bobcat dunk I've ever seen just given how far the pull back reach was.

Not really relevant to the discussion but this is the video that came up for me after Doug's. Thought everyone would enjoy it.

Wow, blast from the past and a great win. Also those were some longgggg shorts guys wore back then, and a student section that still cared. I almost forgot about the whole rushing the floor concept that existed.

The Late, Great Don Hilt

Sorry no surviving video that I’m aware of. There may be a few others on this site who can present corroborating eyewitness testimony.
