Akron has an rpi rating of 34 and they could lose in the Mac championship and not get the second bid that they deserve.

Alright...I'll bite. How could anyone justify Akron as an at-large if they lose in MAC Championship game. They don't have one signature win out of conference. Now beat Louisville...yeah..I get they would have some kind of argument. But wins over Tulane...UMASS...Concord...Malone...USC Upstate...Southern and Merrimack don't get it done. They also lost a chance to state its case against West Virginia.

Akron isn't even sniffing the bubble.

What am I missing with Akron's resume?

Don't think the NCAA uses RPI anymore...

You're missing nothing - you're spot on. That said, I think if they win it all in Cleveland, Akron could finally win an NCAA Tournament game. They've got the guards to play with a lot of teams.

Here's a peak at their NET resume:

Had they managed a W against two of WVU, L-Ville, or Liberty, they might have a case. I'd also imagine that most would have expected Marshall to be a better than the 170's to 180's in the NET. That would have helped their cause as well.
