I would hope the NCAA would develop consistent rules regarding this right now - this week - if they haven't already. Make them similar to the NBA rules - leave the bench to join a fracas like this, get suspended for a few games, no questions asked. Throw a punch, miss a month. Throw a chair, lose your scholarship permanently. Take a fight into the middle of fans and media people, get further suspensions. The KU and KSU AD's need to step up and be harsh -- TODAY -- even if it means they play walk-on's in the next few weeks, or for a month.
If I'm Bill Self and Bruce Weber, my teams aren't practicing today, they're running suicides for an hour. Like Samuel L Jackson in "Coach Carter"...TO THE BASELINE men.
Of course its 2020, and we probably can't do that anymore, but that's where I'd be if I were coach.
Well stated, Country. Crap like this should not be tolerated. Swift and punitive action is called for.
To take it further, it brings me back to when similar nonsense happened between XU and UC in the Crosstown Shootout. This was Mick Cronin's response in the post game presser:
https://youtu.be/1Et4PFYtO-8?t=157 For me, that's the correct response, and a reason I like Coach Cronin so much. I remember how Chris Mack and his players responded - it wasn't remotely the correct response in my opinion.
That leads me to, and I didn't see it or look it up, How did Self and Weber respond in their post game interviews?
