This story has been getting a lot of press here.
The over/under here is whether,if he does well,he stays more then 2 years.

Right here. Only 1 year ago I was treated as a pariah for suggesting that we should consider him. Now, the story is barely a blip on the landscape outside of the 'Rona. Once again, BA proving to be completely short-sighted and overly conservative in the thinking.

Yeah, they didn't even do the PR 101 "bury the bad news" trick of Friday afternoon. They tried the more innovative Saturday release. Huge boon for them that COVID-19 is making a non-story of the hiring of an unethical serial NCAA rules violator and king of "second" chances. Maybe if he's suspended before Iona tips off this year they'll get some flak, but I'm sure he'll eventually succeed at Iona like he's done everywhere. That doesn't mean I would want him here. Hiring a known scumbag doesn't make a program innovative.

Bobcat Love: The Iona job is a much better fit for him than Ohio. It's his home town, etc. Plus his family would be much more satisfied there. If we would have pursued him, I'm pretty sure he would have quickly turned us down.

and being a “blip” on the news is hardly indicative of anything.

B love, I really miss you not weighing in more on these boards. I always found your posts to be thought provoking and I admired your outside the box thinking as it relates to OHIO athletics.
That said I never felt the OU job would be one Pitino would consider and not that the OU job would be beneath him. I think the OU locale would have been his biggest obstacle. It’s “Green Acres” feel is not for everyone and I doubt it would have fit for him. Please do not take this as a shot in any way to you. When you posted it last year I thought to myself that’s interesting and one I would never have thought of.,
Good seeing your occasional posts and stay safe.
