The tourneys are cancelled. Who can blame the NCAA?
We have only had 11079 specimens tested. Nobody knows who is swimming naked. We are relying on two companies to come up with test (Quest and Lab Corps), Quest said they will be able to test 10k people per week in 6 weeks, Ohio only received 800 test from the federal government so they should close all schools. Here is Mike Pence talking about the testing.

I read that the Cleveland Clinic is now conducting their own tests. They currently have capacity to test 500 samples a day and hope to up that to 1,000 by next week.

I hope so, that would be good. Hopefully, University Hospitals can do the same.

The text accompanying thread title is quite odd.

The loss of basketball pools alone could have a serious adverse affect on the economy.

Even though he had the cold, the sight of Fred Hoiberg languishing on the sidelines last night clinched it.

I agree JSF, ironic, that Hoiberg clenched it. Nebraska has since come out and confirmed that Hoiberg rested positive...for the flu (not coronavirus)

Didn't want to post this on the Olympic Sports Board, since it gets
less attention then Siberia.

1.In addition to Basketball, the NCAA also cancelled the D1,DII and DIII wrestling tournaments.
Just like Basketball, that ends the season/career for a lot of wrestlers.

2.Under our Olympic qualifying rules,if you win a National Championship
in wrestling, you automatically qualify for the Olympic Trials.
This eliminates a lot a of guys' chance to try out for the Olympic Team.

The again, right now no one knows if there will even be Olympic trials,or the Olympics.

3.I know there's a lot of talk on wrestling boards about asking the
NCAA to grant all senior wrestlers the ability to wrestle another year,if
they want to.

This would also mean increasing scholarships for 1 year.

A more likely option is to limit this only to Seniors who
qualified for the NCAA Tournament, since everyone else's season
ended last weekend.

4.The NCAA announced no National Championships for Spring sports.

Does anyone know if that kills their regular season also ?

On a non-sports note,O.U. is still advertising for Mom's Weekend and
on-campus housing for graduation.
Would think that will change.

I think that all large gatherings of any kind are going to be very limited with most being cancelled/postponed until the best medical minds deem the world safe and give the all clear. Obviously something that nobody really knows at this point.
