Out of curiosity, I wanted to see how many players in NCAA history are in the 300 3 pointers club. A lot more than I expected. Dartis is currently tied for 195th all time and passed a whole host of players last night, including Dee Brown, Marcus Paige, and Isaiah Canaan. 18 players have passed 400 and two have passed 500.

I also noticed that you could make the argument that BG's John Reimold, class of 2005, and not Nick Kellogg was the MAC leader prior to last year with 297. Officially he wasn't because he played his first year at Loyola (MD) before finishing at BG.

Dileo was 19 ahead of Dartis before last night, now only 13 ahead.

CMU has played two less games than Ohio in MAC Play, so Dileo will have more chances to pull ahead of Dartis,

After last night and his 7 trays, Dartis is now at 305. DiLeo only hit one 3 (an off balance deep crazy desperation 3 in the final minute), he now sits at 318. It was looking like the race was over, but now it is conceivable that Dartis could catch him with a couple more games like that. How many games each team lasts in the tourney will play a factor.

But again...Dartis has 711 attempts while DiLeo has 834 so even if Dartis can't catch him, I still consider his career from behind the arc much more impressive. DiLeo is quite the improbable 3 point king as a 6'8" forward, it surprises me he has attempted so many threes in his career.
Kenny Kaminski fit that type of mold, and averaged over 200 attempts per year here at Ohio.

As did the MAC leader heading into this season, Nate Navigato at UT.

Scroll down to three points baskets made and see if you don't see a familiar name in the top 5. Combine that number with the 52 he has this year and he's at 305.

By my count from last night's EMU game:

-This was the 15th time in Jordan's career where's he's made 5+ threes in a game.

-It was also the 6th time he's made 7+ threes in a game.
Make that 16th and 7th on these stats.

This is kind of a fun race to watch for two teams that are certainly not vying for the MAC title. I hope Dartis stays on his hot streak. It'd be nice to see him for at least one game in Cleveland.
