Like Boals said, Preston will not be named the league's MVP. But he means more to his team than any other player in the MAC.

Awesome game!! 14-2 run at end of game! Worried that it was over before this run; Preston disagreed!!

Jay Pres is the MAC POY above all. No one else does all he does.

MU player had wide open lane to the hoop and decided to kick it out for a 3. Unreal.

For those that didn't get to watch this gem:

2:52 - Ben Roderick made Three Pointer
2:38 - Miles Brown steal
2:33 - Jason Preston made layup
2:01 - Ben Roderick steal
1:58 - Jason Preston made layup (and fouled)
1:58 - Jason Preston missed Free Throw
1:58 - Jason Preston offensive rebound
1:56 - Jason Preston made Three Pointer
1:26 - Miles Brown steal
1:22 - Miles Brown fouled
1:22 - Miles Brown made Free Throw
1:22 - Miles Brown made Free Throw

That's a 12-0 run in 90 seconds in which Miami did not even attempt a shot. It is doubly delightful because it was Miami. I know it was just a game to get to 8-10...but damn it is hard to beat that 90 seconds of basketball.

Miles Brown is a great defender and Roderick is a work in progress, both played well down the stretch.

If we advance to Cleveland and next year turns out the way we hope, this game could go down as a turning point game in Bobcat basketball history. It was the game that a young, injury riddled squad decided to fight back. For us old timers, and with Coach Boals at the helm, this has a bit of an old school Bobcat victory feel about it!

I'm convinced that every RedChicken left out there is currently thinking "How in the heck did we just lose that game?"

I can't deny Nolan Foster looked real bad tonight, and hasn't looked great hardly at all this year. But you still have to like the promise in the frosh trio of McDay/Roderick/Brown. McDay has been solid all year, but Roderick & Brown came thru big time down that stretch and is exactly the type of thing that can get them go in. I know they both have had their bad moments but I continue to insist you can see the talent in their game.

We could not have asked for a better scenario. Rest BVP and get our freshmen valuable swagger building experience heading into the tourney.

Honestly....they need to redshirt Foster next year. We had no choice but to play him this year.

Boals is a very good in game coach, the future looks bright. He will need to recruit better bigs. He saw a tall, hustle guy in Foster, in the MAC you need mobile bigs that can jump. The bigs in our conference tend to be shorter, but more athletic. I am sure they he will catch on. The guy we almost got that went to UMKC would have been perfect. He averaged 14 and 8 this year.

Way to earn the home game for the tourney. Felt like a tourney game and great experience for our young guys.

I think these freshman will be great next year. I’m not so worried about Foster long term. He was supposed to redshirt this year. He was brought in as a bit of a project and as A Jr/Sr he should be a good MAC big man.
I do think we need better depth players. I hate a coach running off players but Boals needs to have some tough conversations with 2 or 3 guys.

In defense of Boals, how many options were out there that late in recruiting period when he signed Foster? I mean...he needed a big body. Obviously, Foster isn't ready. He really should red-shirt next season. With Springs, McMurray and Murrell most likely gone after this year....some schollies are going to be available to fix the problem in the paint hopefully. It's ridiculous to see the bunnies that Foster and Sly miss on a consistent basis.

With all that said...what a win. The comeback reminded me of Rush Floyd 3 to beat Kent many years ago. I believe Boals was on that team.

Lol, two or three, I agree. Springs could be decent if he gains some weight and is willing to bang a little. Malone should have a great recruiting class, headlined by murrell, mcmurray.

The great thing about this comeback is that it wasn't just Preston putting the team on his back and carrying it to victory. It was also Roderick, it was also Brown. They took control away from Fiami. Granted, it was Fiami, which had already clinched last place in the East. But it's the same Fiami that beat BG by 18 and CMU by 19 just a week ago. Ohio didn't cave when they could have. Great win.

Remember, this team was picked to finish last in the East. Instead, they wind up just a game out of fourth and have won six of the last nine. A win Monday night means they take on the top team in the league, a team they could've beaten twice. They could make some noise in Cleveland if they get there.

Talk about inconsistent. Can we play a full 40 minutes in a game please. I have seen both Bowling Green and Miami. In each game we go through long stretches where we just do not play well. Second have scoring especially seems to be an issue although we got 17 points the last three minutes and 30 seconds tonight. Defensively, can we keep Miami small guards in front of us?

It was a real nice comeback. Sorry we waited so long to play well. That was a brutal first half by both teams. Now, onto the tourney. Hope BVP is back

We had 10 more FG attempts than did Miami. Turnovers were even so that wasnt the reason. It was mainly because we had 11 offensive rebounds to their three. And Lunden McDay had six of those. That's pure grit. Then add in a few baskets off steals in the rally and good defense and that's how we won.

Dude...why pee in our Cheerios? You make some legit points, but we just finished one of the greatest comebacks in Bobcat history and swept our biggest rival.
