Technically you're right they are not "free agents". But in reality they are because they can still coach if they leave their contract. There is a penalty, of course. Compare that to an athlete. I guess if they drop down from D1 to D3 or NAIA they can play immediately upon transfer, but I'm not completely sure.

Just to stay on topic: good for Jason Carter that he did what he wanted to do.

After a rough past couple games shooting the rock JC is at 33% FG year to date.

Hopefully Carter can turn it around. I think it's actually good to see a player we had here being quality enough to get big minutes or even start for a perennially ranked and dancing team. He did his work here and graduated in three years, good for him.

His role may be changing as other forwards step up. He looked pretty good on defense when I watched a game and he’s a good FT shooter, but 6.7 ppg and 33% shooting is going to diminish his minutes I would guess.

Fremantle is waiting in the wings, Jason needs to play with confidence. If he were here at Ohio and we played green bay he would have been at 18 and 10, this is almost shaded of ji, ji, ji, Jaaron.

He's averaging over four times the amount of points per game than he-who-dribbles-out-thy-clock did at Michigan...

JC looked great against Butler tonight. 17 points and his usual solid defense. Kamar Baldwin had other ideas though...wow what a performance down the stretch by him.

The trio of Preston, BVP & Carter is about as good of a trio as you can hope to recruit in the MAC. I don't question Jason's decision to move on after the coaching change...but boy I just would've loved to have seen what Boals could've done with that trio for 2 seasons.

Yeah he finally had a big game, we could have won about 10 more games with him and in two years he would have got a Portsmouth invite, he will split time next year and end up in Finland afterwards. Say what you eat about DJ, but he stayed and made millions overseas and got an mvp over Doncic. Simmons and Carter would be blessed to do half of that, but I am still going to send snacks to JC and ask him to remember Ohio.

Wonder how DJ’s pregnancy is going? And I’d like to see the documentation of the “millions” he made overseas

LOL, that is about as accurate as throwing darts blindfolded, not one salary fact in that article. The top veterans in The top European Leagues make a million, DJ was not in the top leagues. The average salary in the Greek League this year is $50K, there’s some good money to be made, but he never made “millions”

I was watching the last 8 minutes or so of that game when Belmont-Murray State (another great game) ended. Baldwin was deadly, those were some lethal buckets he was getting down the stretch. Carter looked good when I saw him in the game but Baldwin refused to let Butler lose that game.

Since you're talking about snacks, and citing speculative websites, I can only assume you've been in the Meigs County Gold a little too heavily again, haven't you?

Agree with you on all of this. Carter was a good one. The "what might have been" is strong for those years. I'm glad for him that he's contributing to a team that has a chance to go dancin'.

The man (DJ) was an mvp of a league where the highest paid player makes over 4 million, he has made some money, I don’t need any weed or any other intoxicating substance to deduce that. Just like I don’t need any sense of loyalty to throw a parade for JC.

Yeah, but he didn’t sign at that level. This is from the same guy who thinks RPInstill matters and Akron is an at large bid. Come up with some actual salary figure and then we will talk.

You are Jealous of that man’s salary, when he was faithful and stayed and led us to three NCAA victories, JC used us and in his attempt to move up, he has become mediocre and may have lost money as far as his earning potential overseas. He is a Jaaron jr., but for some reason I am more supportive of his move, hence the snack package. DJ got PAID, period, end of story. Net rankings replaced RPI and Akron is much lower in net ranking. Net ranking was put in place to allow medi’s to believe in a merit system vs. we are so small and can’t make it.

I’m not jealous of his salary, what I’m saying is you have no clue what he made. He never played 100 games in Europe and you claim he made millions, I simply ask you to back your claim with facts. As another poster here pointed out, you can’t.

I also harbor no I’ll will towards JC or Jaron, they made decisions upon what they thought were best. They both also graduated from OHIO

I don’t know the exact dollar amount, but he made a lot of money and he was an MVP. He started at the highest level and excelled because he played four years at an institution that supported his growth. We allowed him to maximize his game, Xavier plays a grind it out use the whole shot clock approach where a player like DJ would have never been able to show what he could do. DJ had a resume and tape of him busting high majors tails and he went overseas with confidence and ascended to being an mvp and with that comes new contracts with new signing bonuses.

So, you go from “making millions” to I don’t know. That’s exactly the issue here. On the Akron thread you boast about their RPI and how they are an at large, yet again you are faulty on your facts. Someone calls you as you back pedal better than DB in the past 20 years.
