Mentions the Ohio game prior to the BSU run in the NCAA.

Anyone remember that game as being particularly outstanding? https://www.thestarpress.com/story/sports/2020/06/19/chan... /

“And then (in 1990), outside of the tournament run, I say because I just watched it on YouTube the other day the Ohio game there. I had … a great game in that game ... and that was one of the games that kind of got me going right before the tournament. Because the OU game is the second-to-the-last game of the season, and going into the tournament that kind of boosted my confidence to show that I could play on a higher level.”

ahhhhh welll. May as well watch it this Sunday AM to see what CT saw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3JI8wjM1u8

I know that team was not good, and by the second to last game of the regular season, they were beaten up. They played hard, but it basically Whitaker bringing the ball up, and trying to set as many screens as possible for Jamerson to score. And on defense, just pray a 6'4"-6'5" football player or a 185 pound 7-footer could protect the paint.

In my opinion it was Hunter's best year of coaching at Ohio. To lead that team to 12 wins in his first year with that roster was a freaking miracle.

Good coaching or not, the team was not good. Not entirely their fault, but just watch the game above for proof.

That's my point...that team should have been 2-26....not 12-16. I mean Hunter had maybe 3-4 legitimate Division One players on the roster his first year.

3 or 4 maybe a very generous statement.

Ha....I know....that was a rough roster. I give all of those guys credit because they did everything they could to scratch out 12 wins that year.

Wow, they lost to Kentucky by only three and beat Washington State. Granted, UK was below average by their standards that year (Pitino's first as coach) and WSU was outright bad, but still.

For being a small team, the guards could all rebound. Thanks for the stats!
