Seems about right to me. I expect a relatively easy win and then off to Cleveland.

Oh boy.....folks....there is nothing easy for Ohio basketball this year. And if memory serves me right..didn't a heavily favored Ohio squad led by Brandon Hunter lose in the first round at home to CMU many years ago?

And with our injury situation, who knows how this game will play out.

We are playing better and playing with heart. That said, I would not be complacent about this game.

Also, Dartis was really hurting at Fiami. Just 23 mins and 4 pts (0-2 from 3-pt range). We'll need one or both to be ready.

As stated previously, dating back 3 years, CMU senior Kevin McKay (or perhaps McDay according to Miami announcer) loves playing in the Convo.

Anxiously awaiting on a status update for BVP. Glad we survived Oxford without him but would not like to press our luck with that.

This.

With "Dardis" at something closer to 75-80%, I don't see how we win this if BVP is a no-go.

With him, I think we've got a good shot to make it to Cleveland and roll the dice.

Lol, you had to drudge that sad memory up?

To be fair that CMU team had Chris Kaman and Chris Webber's brother, if memory serves :)

My memory rushed right back to that ill-fated March night. Brought that season to a painful end as it seemed to have so much promise going into the year.

2002, the first year of O'Shea. We were sitting pretty good in the MAC to get a bye and had the random February trip to Chapel Hill in which we beat the Tarheels comfortably. Came home to finish out the MAC season with 3 home games and totally crapped the bed by losing 2 and forcing a 1st round game against the #12 seed Chips and didn't even come close to winning. It was the worst meltdown of a season that I can remember.

I was there. That was a bad night.

So tickets are $15? Might diminish the crowd...Kinda pricey for a family of 4-5. Wish season tickets were honored with a 1st round MAC game. Didn't they used to be?

I think they've always had to be purchased. I don't have a problem buying, it makes sense given it wasn't in what was originally sold. It would be nice to have the price be similar to what the per ticket price is of our season tickets though...which for those of us in the upper bowl, is quite a lot lower than 15.

Yeah...I'll still be there, but it's only $30 for my wife and me. I would think twice if I had 3 kids though..

I could have sworn that when I got season tickets as a kid, there was a 1st round MAC game included at the end of the sheets of tickets just in case. Maybe I'm wrong though.

No, you are correct. Used to get a first-round game ticket with the season ticket package. Obviously the ticket was no good if we didn't have a first-round home game. But, it was a perk for season ticket holders.

Couldn't agree more. There is nothing "easy" in March. CMU was sitting in a pretty good position for a bye to Cleveland a few weeks back before they went on a nine-game losing streak ...

I'd feel better if that was a 10-game streak and they didn't just blow out WMU. Seems the Chips still have some fight in them. And Keno has been a pretty good post-season coach since coming into the MAC.

In 7 MAC tourneys, he's only failed to make it to CLE three times and two of those losses came in OT. So they aren't going to lay down.

And if Ohio isn't healthy ... this could be trouble.

I'm cautiously optimistic they can win ... but nothing would surprise me less than seeing a worn-down, injured Ohio team get bounced on Monday night.

^^^^ Agreed. Just look at Northern Iowa in the MVC for a recent example.

CMU is like most of the MAC teams playing tonight -- not very good on the road. They were 2-7 in the MAC and 0-6 OOC away from home. They beat only Toledo and WMU on the road, and their last road win was on Feb. 1. They've had some close losses in that stretch, but two of the last three road losses were blowouts.

We'll need to defend the perimeter well tonight. When we beat them three weeks ago they hit only 18% of their threes (4 of 22) and DiLeo was only 1 of 3 and Morgan was 1 of 7. Last Friday in Mt. Pleasant, they hit 42% (11 of 26) against WMU (including 9 of 16 in the 2nd half) and DiLeo hit 4 of 7 and Morgan 4 of 9.

In pregame warmups, at what I’d call 3/4 speed, both Vander Plas and Dartis look mobile. Both appear to be in good mood and positive. No limps, etc. Fingers crossed.
