Over the past couple of years, we've seen some significant improvement from our sophomores. Jason Preston last year was the most obvious example of this, but even Vander Plas saw major increases.

Who do you expect makes major gains this year? Ben Roderick definitely started showing promise towards the end of his freshman year, and Lunden was consistent throughout.

If those two make the kind of jump that Ben and Jason did, this team is going to be dangerous.

Roderick is the most likely candidate but if Lunden McDay decides to more aggressive on offense he could be an All-MAC performer. He was already showing glimpses of it towards the end of the season. His basketball IQ is through the roof.

+1

I hope they show why they were both first team all-state at the big school levels a couple of years ago. They're the kind of guys that can make a backcourt dangerous come March

I'll throw Foster's name into the conversation. Big guys are usually longer-term projects, but he looked very good at times last season. Just needs some consistency.

I really, really like Lunden. I think he's going to be a real star and one who helps the team chemistry kind of like Treg did but with more playing minutes.

That would be fun to see him take steps forward!

If McDay becomes aggressive on the offensive end he would be a beast. I think he is going to frustrate a lot of players like Trey did with his grittiness.

I don’t think these players have to take as much of a leap as Preston to make this team really dangerous nor should they be asked to in their sophomore year.

To me, Roderick and McDay are pretty much already there. Just some fine tuning and some confidence building and these guys are gonna be tough outs in this league. The solid core of BVP, JP, Roderick and McDay is just about as good as you can ask for.

Cats really need to see a jump from the big men development so they don't have to keep relying on transfers.

I'm hoping to see a lot more from Roderick, the 2019 state Gatorade Player of the Year, next year and on a more consistent basis.

Can't agree with you on Roderick. He showed some nice things last year but there was a glaring lack of toughness. Hope to see that addressed this year.

Doesn't qualify, he's a transfer.
