Great detective work, Colorado! It's been quite awhile since we had a *real* TOS to thread! This guy has more lives than a cat! ;-)

Actually a pretty cool gig.

Retires at 58, financially comfortable and now keeps his hand in the game. Ridiculed (somewhat in jest), but pretty well-played life.

O'Shea's Announcement:

"After retiring from college coaching a few years ago I reached out to Ed Dechelis, the head coach at The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis sharing that I would welcome the opportunity to help out with the Naval Academy prep school team in Newport if there were an opportunity. The prep school is located about 1 mile from my home on the naval base here in Newport; it is a one-year post-graduate program for young men and women hoping to attend Annapolis or the Coast Guard Academy. Thanks to Ed Dechelis, for the past two years it’s been my pleasure to serve as an assistant coach with Greg Miller as the Head Coach.

Greg was an outstanding player at the University of Delaware and played for many years as a professional in Europe. I very much enjoyed working with Greg and admired the outstanding job he did with young men in his charge. Unexpectedly, Greg and his wife Alex received and accepted a great opportunity to work together at Gould Academy in Maine. Hence, it is my pleasure to share that I am a Head Coach again at the Naval Academy prep school. I feel blessed to have found an opportunity like this at my age, 1 mile from my home working with young men committed to something bigger than themselves."

I lived for one year on the campus of the Naval Academy Prep School, which is also the campus of the Naval War College. It's beautiful, surrounded by water, has it's own beach, and is a couple of minutes away from downtown Newport.

As far as retirement gigs go, this is a great one.

Now that's how you retire. Good for him.

Great opportunity for TOS. Since it's a one-year program it must be quite a challenge starting from scratch with all new players every year.

When I was in high school,I was being recruited by West Point.

At that time they used West Point Prep as way to "red shirt" athletes.

From what I've seen on the wrestling boards, they still do.

I would think the Naval Prep program is similar.

That’s exactly what they all do (Army, Navy and Air Force)

West Point even moved their prep school on post. A huge upgrade from Fort Lee.

Danny Nee did something like that with the Merchant Marine Academy. I heard he needed the gig and wanted to get back in D1 at the time.

Tim has always been a hustler. I know many didn't like him but he did win a MAC title and for those who took the time to get to know him, he was a pretty decent guy. He was one hell of a contract negotiator.

I just realized it’s been 12 years since Tim O’Shea was Ohio’s coach and The Sound of Silence started playing in my head.

...Wichita State. Not officially done but I can't imagine Marshall survives this.

Does it not seem like this guy has some new allegation against him each year?
