You know someone's an Ohioan when they instinctively dream of South Carolina.
My parents retired there, and my sis never left there after grad school, so I'm there frequently. For me, if I ever moved from Ohio, it would be for the mountains/hills of the Carolina's or Virginia.
Me too. A week at the beach is plenty. First went to the Outer Banks in 1962 and stayed on Ocracoke. Now that's relaxation.
Agreed, though I'll take it father. I only need about 3 days at the beach. The two best things about the beach are sunrise/sunset, and boche ball. After that, I'm bored just sitting there baking or reading.
Reasons the mountains are great in the summer:
-Cooler, by far.
-Less crowded in general.
-At least near the mountains of NC/VA have, there are tons of great wineries and other things to do besides sit there and bake in the sun and read.
All that said, I've never been to The OB. I've always wanted to though.
