Due to Covid. Our game next week is postponed, so we may not play again until the new year.

South Carolina's men's team just announced its second hiatus because of covid. Their 2-8 football team also backed out of the Gasparilla Bowl due to covid.

I think everybody assumed that because the NBA got through its summer season the NCAA could do it too. But the lack of bubbles is really hurting college ball. Coach K wanted to postpone things a couple of months and have May Madness. He might get his wish after all.

Especially when ONE case in basketball shutters the program.

I don't agree with many things regarding Covid but the double standards are astounding. What is really being accomplished by playing any college sports right now? Since March we have heard, non stop, how dangerous this is, stay away from each other, wear masks, etc. Too dangerous for spectators but ok for athletes to compete? This is all crazy.

If we did what the NCHC did in terms of hockey, I would understand it. But at the end of the day, these schools are open to X variables happening. Wish some schools would have said let's go into bubbles for December break and go from there.

And it doesn't need to be one case on your team. Syracuse had to shut down its program because someone in the Buffalo program tested positive the day after Syracuse played them.

Chicago State pausing activities also as maybe for the rest of the season. With Duke women calling off all games, I am guessing those two programs won't be the last to cancel the season.

And an added wrinkle on cancellations: refs testing positive. Last Wednesday's Oregon-UCLA game was postponed because a ref tested positive. I think one or two other games have been called off this season because refs tested positive.
