Coach Boals said on the Coach Solich Radio Show tonight that Mississippi Valley State has bailed out on their game in Athens. Coach Boals said that they continue to try to line up additional games.

o$u game v. alabama st. on saturday was cancelled. Dispatch said that o$u would not reschedule the game but is looking to add a non-conference game to its schedule. Maybe Boals and Holtmann can get together.

"Bailed out?" How about showed sound judgement and reason.

Ring...Ring...Ring...
WVU Athletic Dept Answering Service: “Out an Abundance of caution, our offices are closed. Please leave a message and we’ll forward your message, thank you.”
Boals: “Yes, this is Jeff Boals calling for Coach Huggins. Could you please have him give me a call.”

Yeah, probably not in their best interests to travel all the way to Ohio for one game....especially with the COVID situation.

They may be right there with Chicago State as the worst Div I program this year. They are losing by 40 or 50 points most games.

Understandable.

It’s not in anyone’s best interest to play this team.

KenPom has them dead last at 357. I would think there should be some Horizon or A10 teams looking for games.

No chance OSU or any other major program agrees to play us after watching our last 2 games. Maybe Dayton or Wright State would be up for a game...Better yet both of them in one road trip? Hope we can find a way to get some more games.

Why is this game canceled? MVSU is playing Memphis tonight.

Chattanooga has already done up/back on same day to Tennessee Tech and Middle Tennessee. They're doing the same with UA-B soon. It reduces virus risk in lots of ways and saves a bit of money with hotels.

It's just a two hour bus trip from Itta Bena up to Memphis so I bet MVSU is doing the same thing.

Ya all may think I'm crazy but I think it'd be good if we played Kansas this year. We would no doubt come into a game like that hungry for revenge. We may not be able to win but I bet we'd have a much better performance than the last two games. I doubt we'd get that chance unless it were in the NCAA tournament. More realistically we could try to get Dayton or maybe Xavier on our schedule this year.

North Alabama, a relative newcomer to D-1 has a game at Indiana on Dec. 13...
their football team traveled to BYU this fall, a detour to Athens after Bloomington would be nothing for a hoops team.

Somebody pass that along to whoever can pull that off.

It's a funny position to be in. If the NCAA announced all sports are cancelled immediately until we're over the hill for good, I would not object, but if they're going to play, I'm going to watch. I'm well aware I'm monetizing the hypocrisy.

Yes the above two schools are bad. Throw in Purdue N-west and that is another easy game. The Bobcats won't have have many more layups going forward unless a Capital or Rio is scheduled at the last minute.

Akron’s game against Kent State was canceled this weekend due to positive tests in the Kent program. Might as well see if the Akron game up if nothing else
