All 5 members of the All-MAC team are guards and 3 either entered the transfer portal or considered entering the NBA draft after last season.

Kind of hard to believe the guard talent in this league last year and that list doesn't even include German from NIU who graduated.

Just read the ESPN article on their mid-major preview. They seem to be gushing about the MAC and got me thinking if this is going to be the year of the holy crapshoot in Cleveland where anyone goes in with a shot to really win it and have reasons why they can win it.

And it will probably be played in front of no fans besides family and administrators. Ugh.

From the ESPN story:

Votes to win the MAC are three for Bowling Green and one each for Toledo and Ball State.

A quote from an annonymous coach:
"The MAC might have the best collection of point guards in the country. I'm taking [Loren] Cristian Jackson, Marreon Jackson and Jason Preston over any point guards in college basketball. The league right now, from top to bottom, is at an all-time high. Akron, Ohio and Bowling Green, take your pick [to win the league]. Toledo will be OK, so they could sneak up there because of how weak their division is. Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio, Kent State and Buffalo are all in the same division."

One writer picked Marreon Jackson as the mid-major player of the year.

Lots of talented guards in the league this year. Marreon Jackson is one of those "this feels like his 6th year" guys, to me. Seems like he's been at Toledo forever. Akron lost a lot of starting minutes but it looks like they have multiple higher-level transfers eligible this year.

It should be an interesting year, I'm ready for some basketball.

All time high? Sounds like a coach trying to build up expectations in case his team has a bad season and thus he gets to keep his job. All time high. That's funny.

Alan, I'm not sure, but I don't think that was a MAC coach who made that statement.

He does also say in the next sentence that Toledo should do well because of how weak their division is.

"Well, which is it young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if'n I freeze, I can't rightly drop. And if'n I drop, I'ma gonna be in motion."
