Just after Wayne Embry's wife passes he loses his longtime friend and point guard Dave Zeller. Legendary player for Tecumseh HS in Clark Co attended Miami with Embry and set early MAC shooting records. Went on to Coach at several Ohio HS. I remember playing his Piqua team in 73 with an ultra quick PG and a 6 9 ish forward. They came into the Royals organization with Oscar. Nice to still have writers out there that can give a tribute. Pretty good coach in a tough WOL and sectional back then with Lima, Sidney, Troy, Celina and some pretty tough AAA schools. He loved the game and everyone I knew including Charlie Coles and Jerry Fisher that followed in his shadow at Miami had nothing but great stories about him.

\ So sad to learn of the passing of Wayne Embry’s wife, Terri. She was a rather amazing woman and not just because she spent 62 years married to this rather amazing man. Embry likes to tell the story of Terri marching on Selma, Ala., in March of 1965. A story that seems especially important now in the wake of this NBA week of protest. Terri went with Oscar Robertson’s wife, against the advice of their husbands, to the march. Embry and the great Robertson were teammates and roommates with the Cincinnati Royals. Terri called their hotel on the road to let them know what was going on. Embry is so proud to tell that story and others about her. Condolences to the Raptors senior adviser and to his family …
Glad for her that she got to see Wayne inducted earlier this month by the Raptors in light of his trailblazing accomplishments
