That board is a mere shadow of it's former self. But then, so are we.

Still I found some interesting content, the post on tourney appearances offered up the following around the MAC figures,

NIU only once in 1982.
Akron 3 times last in 2013.
Buffalo 4 times last in 2019.
WMU 4 times last in 2014.
CMU 4 times last in 2003.
EMU 4 times last in 1998.
Toledo 4 times last in 1980. Wow 40 years without a visit.
BG 4 times last in 1968. A winner in longest time since making the field at 52 years.
Kent 6 times last in 2017.
BSU 7 times last in 2000.
Ohio 13 times last in 2012.
Miami 17 times last in 2007.

I don't know about anyone else here, but, 2012 seems like a long drought to me.

Our longest absence from the NCAA tournament since 1960 has been 11 years.

Strange to have the team in town and bubbled up. No going to visit and welcome them to Muncie or talk to Russ or Coaches. It is a sad year but I am happy they are bubbling up and doing the best they can to get through the season.

Watching lots of hoops. Akron vs Kent tonight. Both going tooth and nail at each other. 47 49 right now in a tight one at a JAR that is echoing with emptiness.

Both these teams look pretty good. Santiago...the Hargrave kid is looking pretty solid at the point for Kent. Freeman (no relation) is a surprise as a walk on for JG. Sendy is still Sendy and I am always unimpressed with his coaching. Jackson is a very effective little guy at Kron. He is so good at getting all his guys involved and has the added bonus of hitting 3s right when you need them.

Kron now walking away as I type but Kent not done yet

Looking to see that there is no webcast tomorrow wo Russ is going to have to paint the picture. I think Balls has been building a program. They are certainly recruiting Indiana well getting several highly respected in state HS players the last few years. A couple of new transfers including the Windham kid we lost to Creighton but came home to Balls after a year.

On to tomorrow. DOn't know about Preston but happy to see that Sears stepped in the other day and had a good day dishing the ball and limiting his turnovers

EDIT Oddly enough I was looking for something other than Buckut football and saw that CBS Sports has the Ohio Balls game listed tomorrow. Anyone else verifying this on something other than DIrectTV?

You think 2012 seems like a drought??? Go tell that to BG and UT. Now THOSE are examples of a DROUGHT!

I do

Like Mr Swank documents above we are Ohio and we have not been used to long droughts. I choose not to measure us by our peers but by our own expectations. And quite frankly, I am more than ready to get back

Yikes, you're right it has been that long. Bill Fitch at BG is before my time, but I remember hearing about his BG success during his storied NBA career. I worked with a guy once who would always talk about whether Bobby Nichols and Harvey Knuckles would would be alive to see the Rockets back in the Big Dance again. I certainly remember that but can only imagine the disgust that BG and Toledo fans have for their drought. Of all MAC teams, Toledo should be able to sustain a program because of their media presense. I realize it isn't much, but other MAC schools would beg for that kind of exposure.

Pretty easy to find the information on the official sire. Each player has a Bio https://ohiobobcats.com/sports/mbkb/2020-21/bios/sears_ma...

Same question was asked 12/10 with no replies. I'll save some time for you by cut and pasting directly from the site. " Son of Chad and Lameka Sears...Has one younger sister, Makenzie. " He is from Muscle Shoals, AL, played HS at Hargrave Military Academy.

When I look over this team I notice a few things;
1) They basically play with a small rotation.....Advantage Ohio
2) Their FG%, 3PTFG%, & FT% is below ours........Advantage Ohio
3) They score at a rate 10pts less than us.......Advantage Ohio
Statistically speaking we should win this game.

I see that Ball State, being at home, is their only advantage.

We will need to be mentally tough enough to win, as this a road game.

You can team up with ohiobobcat, 71. I can now see a breakout 3 pt. Game, unreal shooting %, and everything else you 2 want to analyze before every game. Just shoot us in the foot. Better yet, let us just play the game!

Maybe I am reading into things but the Ohio Gameday Twitter post and just now Arkley's post show Sears picture. If I were a believer in signs I would think Preston is not playing today.

https://twitter.com/JasonRRArkley/status/1345399096429965312

Maybe it is just co incedental.

Sears and McDay looking good today. Might bode well for the rotation when JP gets back.

And we are tied in Muncie.

BS def intensity has intensified. Theyre hitting 3's while the Cats are a little cold right now.

Wow is the future bright. When Preston returns, lots of possibilities on offense. Defense is a work in progress, but I am sure Coach Boals and his staff will have things looking better soon.
