I saw Cleveland State's game vs Toledo. While Toledo pulled out the win, Cleveland State outplayed them for much of the game. The Vikings have brought in a nationally ranked recruiting class. They are much improved. The Cats will really have to come to play Sunday. They have guys who can really fill it up from three.

C'mon Jeff. Ranked highly among Horizon League teams, yes. But nationally ranked? I guess so if 80th is considered nationally ranked, but then every team is nationally ranked. Even the school that comes in at 313th.

80th is in the top 25% of recruiting in the country. That's not terrible.

I watched the UT game, too. Toledo shot very poorly in the first half and was able to right the ship in the second. CSU was picked last in the Horizon in the pre-season prediction I saw. My personal "eye test" is that they are not at all that bad. Weren't we picked last in the MAC in '19?

In the "imitation is the most sincere form of flattery" department...The Illini bench was full-throated from the beginning vs Baylor last night. Baylor's defense proved too much for them and Kofi was a non-factor because of foul trouble. Hopefully they show well vs Duke - for the sake of our ratings.

I was thinking the same thing while watching last night. Our bench really made a difference on Friday and I think they took note. I came away from that game last night glad we don't have Baylor on our schedule. Illinois had maybe three shots all night that weren't contested.

Watching that game I commented that Baylor was very quick. My Illini friends all chimed in that the teams were a mirror image of each other. I wisely kept my opinion to myself as I watched the Baylor guards jet around on both ends. Quick defensive pursuit and fast first steps and at the rim from the 3 point line in a hurry

I actually thought Illinois looked quite lazy. You could see it in their bench not getting into the game until the end and you could see it in their "olay" defense. Our intensity definitely overwhelmed them until they decided to care late in the game. If they play their games this year mark it down, Illinois will lose 10 or more games. The Big 10 alone has some solid, hard-working teams. And Ayo Dussonomo and Cockburn have 1 foot out the door towards the NBA.

Is that the "olay" defense that McDay and Roderick couldn't get shots against? You and I watched two different games.

Preseason coaches and media poll had CSU #7 out of 12 teams.

80 out of 350 is good for a midmajor.

Are there other venues across the country with the same names?

Don't disagree. But saying their recruiting class is nationally ranked has an added connotation, I believe.

There are two others in the MAC (EMU, NIU) but since CSU plays at the Wolstein Center it's safe to assume that the game is at our Convo. (Correction: BG's arena also has "Convocation Center" in the name.)

Edit: Other schools with an arena with "Convocation Center" in the name include Fairfield, Kennesaw State, Hampton, California (PA), Incarnate Word, Chicago State, FIU, Ferris State, and Appalachian St. JMU may still have a Convocation Center on campus but they now play at a new facility. There might be others, but that's all I could find with a quick Google.

No worries, Jim Schaus has commissioned IMG to sell the naming rights for the Convo and Peden. I suspect a corporate partner will be named very soon.

Kind of like "on national TV."

Gotta give the Horizon League some respect. Wright State put a whipping on Fiami yesterday. Granted, the red chickens aren't very good...and Wright State has a good team this year...

Good afternoon, old non tech man here, that has been going to the Convo for all home games for 20 years. Is there any way to watch this game? Thanks for your help.

It's supposed to be on ESPN3.

Edit: I just logged in to ESPN3 and it seems to be about to start. You'll need to log in with your video provider username/password and your ESPN account. Hope you get to see it.

Did you get in on espn3?

Should be able to get it on the computer by logging into your cable/satellite account and verify your account.

Should set that up so you can get there anytime OHIO plays.

I couldn't watch until I launched from ohiobobcats.com.

I don't have espn3 since my directv is on pause, so I wasn't expecting this to work. But I do have ESPN+
