Are we 100% locked into only playing 6 Non-Con games? I see coaches like Notre Dame's Mike Brey actively soliciting games on twitter. Any chance we can pick up another game or two or is a maximum 6 non-con games league mandated?

I don't know about non-conference, but there is certainly room in the next two weeks. I did see that our game at Akron was moved to December 22 from late February. The MAC wants to keep some time open towards the end of the season in the event make-up dates are needed.

I think that the NCAA should consider pushing the end of the season back five or six weeks. Where the vaccines are right now those weeks should make a big difference in how bad the pandemic is. They delayed the start a few weeks this season. The have already pulled the tournament from the schedules sites so that isn't an issue. The NBA playoffs and draft will be delayed so that isn't an issue. The season would still end before the school year. I suppose there could be problems with TV schedules and what not.

If they are going try try to play this season then lets find a way for everyone to get most of their conference games in. You know some teams will end up missing half of them. Those that were lucky enough to get their games in on schedule can schedule more non-conference games in March and early April with other schools that were also fortunate and that would give the committee a lot more information on relative conference strength.

I could be wrong but we will have to see but i would think most basketball programs and football programs the next two weeks should clear a lot of things up. i think pretty much every school in country sent kids home last week and they wont return until at least January and my guess a lot wont return for spring semester or if they do it will be delayed.

To me this is going to basically put teams in a bubble and i think cancelled games will go way down. so i think basketball may actually be in a good spot.

FYI, ESPN lists the Cleveland St game as being televised on ESPN3.
