Women's team defeats #22 Notre Dame perrienial ACC Tournament champion in the Convo. Based on the performance I'd say #20 is fair number for the women's team.

Men's team loses by 2 on the road against #8 Illinois. With the undefeated record and performance on the road vs. a Top 10 team give them a spot at #15. (Huge stretch of interpretation but why not for kicks)

Keep in mind that Notre Dame was missing a couple of starters and we were at home and that the men's team did lose to Illinois and that their other opponents were pretty bad. I think using these sort of arguments on limited data you could make a case for about 80 teams being ranked and with so few non-conference games being played it will be hard to make a decent result based ranking even at the end of the season.

How good are they overall when we get more information? I'll take a stab and say they the women are about the 40th best team in the country and they men are about 65th.

Don’t you think you have both the men and women a little low in the rankings? I figure they will at least crack too 10

The women deserve some Top 25 votes.

I don’t think the men will be ranked for awhile, but it’ll be interesting to see what Illinois does this week against fellow Top 10 teams Baylor and Duke. If they have impressive wins and Ohio keeps winning, who knows? It is a bummer we have a shortened OOC schedule would like to see us against more quality opponents

Well...for the last 30+ years I would see a post/article like this and skim over it. So many years I have lobbied for Bobcat squads to get respect. I even robo dialed the NIT offices when our Boys were looked over for a post season NIT bid (94 or 94? - can't remember). That said, I finally watched the game last night (was golfing Friday). We are good. Real good. Let's see what happens. I also agree with the other post around Wilson as well.

Too early to worry about rankings at this point, especially considering how little love the MAC gets come March Madness. Better too that we lurk under the radar, so as to catch the Giants of College basketball sleeping. Take care of winning the MAC championship first and then create havoc in the NCAA tournament.

The women did get 6 points in the latest AP poll. (Would put them at #32)

Great to see the women getting votes!

On the men’s side, Illinois moved up to #5 this week. They play #2 Baylor tomorrow and #6 Duke a week from today so we will learn a lot about how good they are.
