We might be in Russ’ head a little now. Took that Warren comparison personally. Shake that rust off, big guy!!

Gonna be refreshing to have some depth to work with. None of our guys attempted 10 shots.

Illinois is beating NCA&T by 58 with 12 minutes left. If we want a shot to make Illinois work for it then Chicago St. and NCA&T better not make us work for it because you know Illinois' starters are going to come into that game not having played a lot of minutes the prior two games.
They wound up scoring 122 vs NCAT, five points shy of the school record, which dates back to 1988. They're likely to break it tomorrow vs ChiSt. They hit a hundred with more than nine minutes to go with the starters already on the bench for several minutes. They are as good as advertised, maybe better.
Preston played 30 minutes. McDay played 28. Nobody else played more than 21.

Still gotta work on our FT shooting defense as CSU hits 85% tonight.

Excited for the win, but then I saw Chicago State won 4 games last year, so not sure how much we can actually takeaway from this game. Just glad to have basketball back though.

I only listened obviously but a few things stood out: BVP and Preston did not sound like they had to force anything or take over. DW3 is for real. Miguel has an edge that we have needed..that guy other teams fans hate. Sears, Towns and White made shots, played D. Miles Brown sounded like he was confident and Rod and Lundo are taking that step. Of course it is just Chi State but still nice to have more than 6 guys.

I was really impressed with how well Wright played but he didn’t even show up in the box score!

He's a bit shy. Doesn't care for the limelight.

I'd ask you guys to go a little easy on Russ. There's not a single guy in this business, or gal, who has not had that happen to them in a broadcast at some point during their careers. Heck, you guys jumped all over me in year one, for saying Jason "Taylor", instead of Jason "Carter", and I only did that once. He does not need me to defend him, but understand he is as passionate about his job as anybody I've ever met. So cut the guy some slack, remember the old saying, "you never know what you had till you lost it"

Enjoy your turkey

Thanks, Marty. I, for one, am grateful for having Russ calling games for Ohio.
I appreciate you sticking up for your colleague.

(...and for the record...you’re not so bad yourself!)

Go Bobcats!

Agreed! He’s a professional who takes his job seriously, it happens. And like others these are not the best of working environments

Totally agree. Russ is great and we are lucky to have him. I think for some of us, it was just some good natured humor. Just thought it was funny. Absolutely nothing against Russ or his work. Apologize if it came across the wrong way.

Thank you Jeff, as that is exactly what my comment meant. We are darn lucky to have Russ and I would hate to lose him. I really have a difficult time thinking that our society Is so fragile that we can’t take some good natured humor.
