CBS is giving the MAC some love this year. I have watched several games on this network. Though they have some exceptionally challenged color teams doing commentary I still like being able to dial up the MAC on TV.

Ball State has a kid called for his second tech for hanging on the rim. Exceptionally stupid move with no one around the first time and then to repeat it the second half was really dumb. The commentator starts justifying why he did it citing a previous foot injury "he was probably afraid to land on" and "assistants let those go in practice" to justify the kid dunking, pulling both legs up in the air and screaming.

I am happy we can get some airtime for the MAC but it seems the teams they use to call these are not the most astute. Some of the commentary is borderline embarrassing. I feel for them.

Sadly, I think the news this morning kind of dooms Ohio the rest of the way. Is there a forced moratorium on practicing and being in the facility during this period or can the teams do virtual or small group workouts while the affected isolate? As this develops and games can't be made up will the MAC just choose regular season champs and forego the tourney? So many questions. At least CBS is putting us on the air.

Balls steamrolls UT in second half and wins 81-67. Rockets dreams of at-large bid fading with these types of losses.

The big time fear...going two years in a row with Preston led Ohio teams not having a chance to dance in March? I don't even want to think about it.

We only have 2 scheduled games remaining after the Feb. 16 cancellation. I’m beginning to wonder if we have already played our last game for this season. Covid is certainly the gift that keeps on taking. Rick Pitino May have gotten it right. Delay the start of the season to March with conference games only and have MayMadness this year.

Honestly, I feel like right now, all you can do at this point is cheer them on when they play, hope everyone stays healthy, and just enjoy the games we do get.

Gone. BG beat them 88-81 today. Toledo's NET was at 59 coming into today; should drop 80 after this loss. Another year for the MAC as a one-bid conference.

Toledo beat Cleveland State by 9. That’s their best win. I mean they lost to Bradley. Also lost to Xavier and Michigan. If they beat one of those two teams it’s a quality win. But come on. I don’t understand how anyone thought Toledo was in an at-large discussion even before their last two losses? It has to take insane circumstances in this day and age for the MAC to get an at-large bid. What it takes is for a team to beat someone like top-10 Illinois in non-conference and go 27-3.

And they are back again. After Akron takes Ball State out of the 2nd half Toledo and Buffalo are in a Mid American matchup on ESPN2. Both knocking down the 3 and beating each other up down low. This is a really good and competitive game.
