So we are now owed games against EMU, NIU, and Miami.

This has to be taxing on the players this year, all this last-second uncertainty. Preparing for games to have them postponed seems to be the norm this season.

Several coaches mentioned this after the football season. I think Houston had four games postponed a day or two before they were supposed play, including games that had been scheduled earlier in the week to replace a postponed game. Not knowing whether, who, when or where you might be playing this week really takes its toll on players, coaches, administrators and even fans.

I wonder if we our 2/16 home game vs CMU could rescheduled for Saturday. They were supposed to play at NIU Saturday, but that's been postponed.

Was it postponed because of cases within NIU? If so, the MAC absolutely should do this.

Looks like it was. That would make sense. At this point, they might want to consider having the team to stay in Mt. Pleasant and just play CMU there again Wed or Thur.

FWIW, we would lose a home game that way.

If CMU would cover half of our total travel costs, why not?

Northern State -Sauls new team- plays back to back games at the same location. Makes a lot of sense considering the the current state of sports today. By the way they were 10-0 the last time I looked.

Well, we would be saving them the cost of a trip to Athens, so....

I would not be in favor of loosing a home game. Even without fans there is nothing as good as home cooking.

I believe the Horizon is doing the same, as well as a couple others.

EMU, NIU & Miami...3 bottom dwellers. It seems like the standings will be dictated by an extremely unbalanced strength of schedule.

That means no games currently between Feb 16 (CMU) and Feb 27 (Buffalo).

Have to think by moving up BG they're hoping to squeeze one or two of the cancellations into that window. Otherwise, that's a large gap before final 2 games of the season and heading into MAC Tourney.

Six MAC games scheduled for Tuesday with all but one postponed. I haven't looked it up but I can't believe any other conference has experienced more postponements than the MAC.

Couldn't the league, with some foresight, schedule teams not hit by COVID to play each other on a few days notice? Or is even worth it in 2020-21?

They have modified the schedule when possible. Any time two teams have had games canceled for the same day, they typically have scheduled them to play each other by moving up their regularly scheduled game to that day. The later it gets in the season, the harder it gets to do that.

Howard just cancelled the rest of its b-ball season over health and safety concerns related to covid.

Last night's scheduled MiamiF-UNC game was postponed at the last minute because of covid issues with UNC. Some of the UNC players partied without masks after Saturday's win over Duke, although I don't two days is enough time for covid to show up in a test.
