Sickest play I have seen all year.
Preston dribbling left to right actoss the FT line drops a behind the back pass to the cutter coming from the right down under the bucket. Instead of taking a challenged shot under the bucket the cutter flips the ball to the corner. Boom!!! Trey ball drops.
Yes that was beautiful. I’ve forgotten now the rest of the cast, but was it Preston to BVP to McDay? As I said in an earlier post, I’ve been waiting for this team to “jell.” That sequence of events may have signaled that magic moment! I wish I could have been there in the Convo to see that one in person.
Preston to Roderick to McDay. Yes it was beautiful.
Thanks. Now that you say that, I remember that that was correct, and I like the ring of “Preston to Roderick to McDay” so much that I thought it worth plagiarizing into a poem, written from the perspective of a Miami student reporter:
These are the saddest of possible words:
"Preston to Roderick to McDay."
Trio of bobcat cubs, and fleeter than birds,
Preston to Roderick to McDay.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,
Making a Redchicken throw the ball away after dribbling a double –
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:
"Preston to Roderick to McDay."
Sincerest apologies to Franklin Pierce Adams (1881-1960)
[Edited a typo in my plagiarizing poem, it's such a gem, want to have it preserved correctly for posterity. Yes, that's sarcasm.]
