Does this still hold true in 2020?
I don't think it does at all.
Maybe not. I guess we will see Sunday. They are allowing fans in there, but not sure how many or how much noise they'll make.
If past home games for Marshall are any indication, they are allowing about 1500 or so fans into each game. This might be the only chance Bobcat fans get to see their team on the court in person this year. Not a bad drive for a Sunday afternoon game.
Didn't realize they are allowing 1,500....yes...that changes the home court advantage big time. Hope some Ohio fans can make it.

The attendance limit will not be set by butts but by teeth.

So it's still 1500 or will it be more like 3000 people?

Does CUSA-TV have on demand for this game? I'd like to get it, but I won't be home to watch it until Sunday night. Go Bobcats!

I would make that drive - However from the Marshall/Herdzone site to look at buying tickets...

"Men's Basketball tickets are available only for 2019 Season Ticket Holders in our game-by-game ticket lotteries. In the event that not all seats are taken in the lottery, there may be upper level bleacher tickets available for sale to Big Green members only. Please call the Ticket Office at 800-THE-HERD during normal office hours for more information."

1500 is a state of Ohio rule (maximum), Marshall is operating at a max of 1,300 as announced in November.

Saw most of their game against Wright State. They still push the pace but they aren't as 3-happy as they were a few years ago. Best player is Taevion Kinsey, who was recruited by Saul. He's an athletic slasher more than a shooter but he scored 31 against WSU. Listed at 6'5" but his long arms make him look taller to me. We will need to control the pace and keep our turnovers down.
Agree.

I think that Ohio has an advantage inside. Marshall has some bigs who can play, but I think Vander Plas and Wilson give us an edge. Wright State hurt them inside until Marshall went on their run in the second half.

Cannot let Kinsey go off on us. I think we have defenders who can match up with him. It will help if Roderick is available. I'm guessing that Lunden will be the primary defender on Kinsey.

PG Jarrod West can hurt you, too. He's streaky.

Their home court advantage is always tough to overcome. Limiting live ball turnovers is important to keep them from getting revved up.
I actually think we will have an advantage inside on the entire MAC as well. I don't know a better trio than Wilson, BVP and Miguel. It looks like Boals lit a fire until Rifen and Wilson is only gaining more and more confidence. I am sure he loves playing with Preston! We do need B-Rod back because he is our gunslinger who can open the inside up. Without him we don't have that one guy who seemingly can hit a 3 anytime.
Dwight Wilson LOOKS like a guy who will dominate the MAC. He can clearly bench press something respectable... no one will push him around!

As one who has bet college sports professionally for many a year, I felt home advantage was a combination of comfort of surroundings and difficulty of travel of road team. Fans have little to no value in determining point spread.

I see the spread is decreasing to +2.5 for our boys.

Measuring stick game. Marshall went on the road and beat Wright State by 16. Wright State is currently waxing BG in BG, 36-15 with 7 minutes to go in the first half.

Or perhaps a grain of salt game. BG looks like they are going through what we went through a couple of days ago.

That was also a Covid game for Wright State. They had 7 players practicing leading up to that Marshall game.

So apparently we cannot afford to have Preston and BVP both have bad games. Effort is there but no one other than Wilson looks ready to step up. BVP out a bunch. Man do we miss B-Rods shooting.

I guess we were due for a stinker. Just no intensity. Not going to take whatever outcome too seriously. Good minutes from Brown and Towns in learning situations.

#13 for Marshall is a Alex Abreu type of player. Just pisses you off for no reason.

Where is OUr intensity? And when was the last time Preston and BVP were this bad on the same night? Bring back McMurray. He at least seemed to care.

McDay just can’t hit today either. Not the best showing we’ve ever had.

Good test and away game for us. Win or lose this Marshall team would be top tier MAC and this game is like all MAC road games. Just wish I knew where OUr guys heads are?
