I saw Cleveland State's game vs Toledo. While Toledo pulled out the win, Cleveland State outplayed them for much of the game. The Vikings have brought in a nationally ranked recruiting class. They are much improved. The Cats will really have to come to play Sunday. They have guys who can really fill it up from three.
Yow.
My account was hacked. That was from Fake Jeff.
Hahaha. I thought of you and this post a lot while watching yesterday's game.
Haven't seen any breakdown of the actual game other than picking our jaws up off the floor so I'll start. It was nice to get a chance for more minutes from the far end of the bench. You know it is a good day when a healthy Jason Preston only logs 24 minutes. When you have that much junk time in a game, it can be really telling for who will probably not be in the rotation come crunch time...with that in mind, it doesn't look great for Nolan Foster (2 mins) unless he had an injury or something going on. Miguel, Towns & Brown appear to be the 3 bench players solidly in the rotation.
Scariest part is we didn't shoot great from 3 or from the FT line. When the run was at 40-0, we missed 4 straight free throws so it could have easily been 44-0. Then the first 5 points they score were all free throws. The level of dominance in just ball control and finding quality shots vs preventing quality shots was startling.
Wilson had 18 points and 14 rebounds in 19 minutes...Damn!
Lunden took a break from his "quietly effective" role to take charge. 7 for 10 from the field including 3 for 5. If we see more of that to go with Preston/BVP/Roderick/Wilson and their scoring ability, look out.
Good for Sears to get the experience at PG while Preston rested. Some growing pains with 6 turnovers but 4 assists and a few nice buckets.
Don't screw up this season, Covid.
