The night J Smooth dribbled out the clock and then dribbled his way to Michigan. Remember it well.

One of my favorite Convo games ever, right up there with Tommy's game winner vs Miami. The scary thing about that clip, though, is it seemed like Nick was the only Bobcat on the floor that realized Kent still had a chance to tie the game at the horn.

Nick SHOULD HAVE KNOWN because his moronic layup instead of dribbling the ball out allowed a possible game-tying 3!!!! I still remember screaming at my TV "DRIBBLE IT OUT!!! DRIBBLE IT OUT!!!"

He sure did. Man...in the heat of the moment you probably don't notice that but he jumped back about 3 feet.

They guy made a mistake and he was obviously mad at himself about it. Get over it, you're a grown man.

Does anyone know what he's done since graduation (post-Michigan)? I'd heard he went overseas (Switzerland or Sweden?) but haven't seen anything since.

It looks like he is on the staff at Michigan.

Very little buzz here about this game...

Wondering what the spread will be. If Vegas knows who might not play for us, that could make the difference between, say, a 4- or 10-point spread.

I'm hoping beyond hope that our boys can overcome any absences and all that rust to play their best game!

Noticed the same thing. I'm guessing covid and lack of games last six weeks and which players are and aren't playing isn't helping get people fired up. Win three games in three days and that all changes. However, the board this year has been awfully quiet.

I wonder if anyone outside of the Ohio Basketball team and Athletic Department knows who is out. If we are missing any of OUr key guys then there is no way that we should be favored.

Maybe being cautious about there being a game at all. We're past the 11 a.m. Tuesday Witching Hour but haven't heard about the results of today's testing. I guess no news is good news but until we see the team on the floor tomorrow and the ball goes up for the opening tip, it's tough to get excited about this game. We've been there too often this season.

Kent board is asking for new/updates on Pippen and Hamilton, is it possible they didn't just sit out the last game? Anybody know if they were on the bench?

According to the Record-Courier:
The availability of senior forwards Danny Pippen and Justyn Hamilton for the quarterfinal clash with the Bobcats remains in question. Coach Rob Senderoff would not provide a specific update on their status Wednesday morning.

“I'll know everybody's availability [Thursday] after COVID testing,” he said.

Both players were expected to take part in last Friday's regular-season finale at Buffalo but did not see action. Senderoff said after the game that they were “unavailable to play,” but would not elaborate. He did add that the team had to “adjust on the fly” to their unavailability.

That's been true, for sure. Now that game day has arrived, I'm excited for the game. It's a rainy, gray day where I live in Indiana. I'm hoping this will brighten it up and put a good start on the almost weekend.

I would assume if there were any forfeit inducing Covid issues, we would have heard of it by now so I am assuming we are having a basketball game today. Now it just becomes a matter of who, if any, is out for each team. I will be checking the board all morning counting on you all to pass along any updates.
