In the Double Jeopardy round, $800 clue in "A College Conference Call"

Answer: "Mid-American: The main campus of this university is in Athens, with a branch in Zanesville"

Sadly, the defending champion contestant guessed "What is Georgia?" but another contestant did guess correctly.

Other schools in the category were Montana, The Citadel, Grambling, and Fordham

Outcome: the third contestant ended up winning the game

A couple weeks ago they had a category involving same-named American cities in different states. One of the clues was about college campuses in cities named (ugh) Oxford. I was glad to see they redeemed themselves tonight. I wonder if Clue Crew member Jimmy McGuire demanded equal time.

I did not get how that question pulled I 65 and Louisville into it.

Maybe they used Google maps. It shows using I-65 from Louisville to Nashville as part of the fastest route between the Oxfords.

Frankly, I was surprised they didn't use the two universities in cities named Athens. Would've been a much better clue. But maybe they had to use Oxfords as part of their deal with the Oxford English Dictionary.
