Always loved Hinkle. Have seen a hundred and some HS and college games over the years. Ghosts in the rafters. Morning sun streaming in the east windows is magical. That said....there are guys who get it and folks who don't. Go over to the X site and mention Hinkle and you will get a barrage of pushback from "peeing in horse troughs" to "needs to be knocked down and replaced with something that has the amenities of Cintas"

If we do get to play there or the Fairgrounds I would not be unhappy. Both are uplifting and favor underdogs for some reason.

Been in Banker's Life for decades of State Championships as our group of HS hoopheads usually go in on a suite. Best game outside of the 2 Tommy played in there was Marion/Brownsburg with Mavunga and Hayward taking on the Evil Marion Giants.

Worst, I would think would be Bloomington but Mackey is Convo lite so that would feel right at home with shooting background and layout. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bNqNWHywFRs/UNfc-CwLINI/AAAAAA...

In all of them fans should take time and walk the concourses and hallways and take in all the extras from the practice gyms to the trophy cases to the reading material on the walls. Well done for sure.

First Round COVID Capacities by Site:

Hinkle: 2,275
Farmers: 1,700
Bankers: 4,500
Lucas: 17,500
Mackey: 1,850
Assembly Hall: 500

So, only family and VIPs at Assembly Hall likely. Hardly any chance at Purdue or Farmers either. Only Lucas has any general public tickets available and they are nose bleeds. Secondary market may be very pricey.

For idea of where secondary market might go, the Big Ten tournament tickets were averaging about $200, SEC $254 and Big 12 $232 according to article above.

Hinkle seats on Stubhub for Saturday games start at $275 right now. Those are upper level seats. Since no lowers are listed on stubhub, I am hoping the NCAA held back lowers for teams to offer their fans.

Correct, there will be zero lowers at Hinkle due to sponsorship signage that will be in down there. Was down there on a site visit a few weeks ago, very limited capacities.

Games are single session only aren't they? Still have to find out which game we play to know which to buy.

Hinkle would be interesting venue.

Reduced capacity might make it unlikely to score tix.

In the main bracket page it lists us going to Hinkle, but if you actually click on Ohio or Virginia - both pages claim we're playing on Friday the 19th at Lucas Oil Stadium at 11:11 am.

None of that info seems to jive so still no clue.

Edit to add - ALL games are currently listed as 11:11 am. So, no times listed yet :).

Had to dust the old username off the shelf and get back on again. First off - go Bobcats! Secondly, the one thing we know for sure is Gameday is Saturday. However, Virginia is not a sure thing as they’re in a Covid protocol pause right now. Covid is everyone’s last opponent before the tournament starts really. Just hoping all the teams that were selected get to play.

CBS shows that we'll be playing at 7:15 pm Saturday on TruTV. They don't have a location for the game. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/2021-nc... /

Why does Assembly Hall have such a low capacity planned? It's like 3% of the seats. Sucks.

I get IU not wanting a bunch of random visitors from around the country crashing their campus during covid. But why agree to be a host site in the first place?

So glad I got to see this team live in Cleveland on Friday and Saturday.

So excited to get the fan and travel friendly Saturday at 7:15pm
Primetime spot only to followed by getting the absolute worst venue. Yes, the one hosting that doesn’t sell tickets. You kidding me?!? That’s a raw gut punch to randomly be
the fans screwed by getting that site assigned to them for their game. That really sucks.

Do we know if, in the event we beat UVA (a big if), are we screwed with playing at Assembly Hall for 2nd rd as well like "normal" tournament locations? Or is it possible we'd get a new Indy location for next round?

Any other year and this would be a really cool place to play a tournament game. Not so much in 2021.

Russ on Twitter makes it sound like we could be moved to a new site for the second round.

Last time I was at Assembly, it was the day Kobe Bryant died and my son was in the diaper derby on the floor at halftime and refused to crawl an inch.

I saw something earlier that indicated all second round games would be in Indy, but I don't see it anymore. EDIT: Found it: https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/2021-nc... /

Broadcast team for Saturday's game: Carter Blackburn/Debbie Antonelli/Evan Washburn.

I actually thought the early energy from our bench against Buffalo was a big boost.
